Scrap Organisation

Ich bin ein totaler Papier-Liebhaber: Wenn ich schönes Scrapbooking Papier gefunden habe, mag ich es fast nicht verwenden, weil es ja so schön ist und bald weg sein könnte. (warum das falsch ist, könnt ihr übrigens ganz unten lesen. Meine persönliche Papier-Katastrophe!) Deshalb bewahre ich auch jeden Fitzel Papier auf. Für meine größeren Papiere habe ich einen Karton, in dem das Papier praktisch hochkant steht. Für die kleineren Papier-Reste habe ich eine Fächer-Mappe und sortiere dort das Papier nach Farben ein. Und für meine klitzekleinen Papier-Schnipsel hatte ich bis gestern kleine Schachteln. Ich glaube, ich habe inzwischen mehr Schachteln als sonst was. Außerdem wühlt man ständig in diesen Schnipseln herum und findet dann doch nicht das, was man sucht. Für viele LOs oder Karten kann man super gut die Scraps benutzen, teilweise braucht man auch nur ein kleines Stück für einen bestimmten Stempel. Da sah ich neulich diesen Link bei Mel und fand die Idee total Klasse! Also direkt mal umgesetzt:

I'm a huge paper-lover: after finding beautiful scrapbooking paper, I do not want to use it, because it's so beautiful and would be away after using it. (the reason for not doing that in future again can be read at the bottom of this post: my personal paper-catastrophe!) That's why I keep every single scrap of paper. I have a carton for my bigger papers, holding the papers upright. And I have a portable/ expandable paper file for my not-so-small paper scraps.I store my papers colorwise there. Up to yesterday, I used to keep my tiny scraps in small boxes. I think, I've got more boxes than anything else. You always dig in the boxes in order to find suitable paper, but you cannot find what you need. Scraps can be used for tons of projects and sometimes you just need a small piece of paper for a stamp. Hence, when I saw this link on Mel's blog, I was totally thrilled. Had to try that out immediately:

Von dem Transparentpapier habe ich tonnenweise hier herumliegen: ich hatte es vor 3 Jahren für Vellum gehalten und habe mich noch über den Preis gewundert *gg* (heute weiß ich es) Es ist aber eher zum Laternenbasteln geeignet. Hierfür kann ich es super benutzen! Ich werde die Scraps noch nach Farben sortieren auf den jeweiligen Seiten. Hier sind sie ziemlich durcheinander, weil ich euch das zeigen wollte. Und ich habe verschiedene Kleb-Arten ausprobiert: die einzelnen Transparent-Papier-Streifen sind jeweils mit doppelseitigem Klebeband, Bastelkleber und Photoklebe-Roller geklebt: sowohl unten wie auch, um die einzelnen "Abschnitte" voneinander zu teilen Ich finde, das ist eine großartige Idee. Ich denke, man nutzt auch viel mehr Scraps, wenn man sie so auf einen Blick sieht und nicht ständig durch Boxen wühlen muss. Übrigens hat meine größte Katastrophe der letzten Wochen auch damit zu tun: ich habe meine 30x30 Bögen in einem Pizza-Karton aufbewahrt und einen großen Zettel mit der Aufschrift "SCRAPBOOKING PAPIER" auf den Deckel geklebt. In diesem Karton waren meine schönsten Papier-Bögen, die ich nicht verscrappen mochte, weil sie mir zu schade waren (ich könnte heulen....) Und dann... ist diese Beschriftung abgefallen.... und irgendjemand (ich weiß noch nicht wer, hier streitet es jeder ab und ich hoffe inständig, ich war es nicht selbst) dachte: schmeiß ich mal den Pizza-Karton weg. Typisch: ich glaube, sonst wirft hier niemand freiwillig einen Pizza-Karton weg. Nun sind alle meine super schönen PP im MÜLL! Und ich habe es nicht früh genug gemerkt, weil ich ja die letzten Monate nicht gescrappt habe. Das ist wirklich eine Katastrophe für mich!!! In Zukunft werde ich auch die schönen PPs verscrappen. Ich sehe sie lieber auf einem schönen Lo, einer schönen Karte, als im Müll. Papierlose Grüße, Gabriele

I have tons of this translucent paper lying around: 3 yrs ago, I thought it was vellum and wondered, why it was that cheap *gg* (now I know...) You can use it for crafting lanterns, but not like the vellum we know in cardmaking for example. But here it's of great usage! I will sort the scraps colorwise into the single pages. They are not in an order here, just wanted to show you an example. I tried different ways of adhering the translucent paper-stripes: doublesided sticky tape, adhesive and a photo-roller. They are used to adhere the stripes at the bottom, but also to separate the single "compartments", where the scraps go. I think, that's such a great idea! I am convinced that I'll be using more of my scraps in future, as I see them at one sight and don't have to dig into those boxes. Oh, do you want to know my biggest catastrophe of the last weeks: I keep my 12"x12" scrapbooking papers in a pizza carton and adhered a huge paper to it's lid, with a label: "SCRAPBOOKING PAPER". There were so many beautiful papers (as mentioned above: I did not want to scrap/craft them...). And then ... the labeling paper did not stick good enough to the carton... and somebody (I do not know yet, who, and I deeply hope that it wasn't me) thought, we had forgotten to throw that pizza carton away. That's so typical: never ever somebody here throws away a pizza carton without being forced to. Now all my super duper PPs are ... in the trash and I did not recognize that early enough (as I did not craft the past months). That's such a catastrophe for me!!!! In future, I WILL craft with my beautiful papers: it's much better to see them on a project, than in the trash! Paperless Greetings, Gabriele

2009 habe ich diese Zitate Box gemacht. Nun habe ich mich dazu entschlossen, statt einer Box ein Journal für meine Zitate zu benutzen. Grundlage ist ein A5 Ringbuch (wer weiß schließlich ,wieviele Zitate ich irgendwo finde?). Hier ist nun das Cover:

Den Hintergrund habe ich mit Acrylfarben gestaltet, Glitzer hinein gestreut und dann noch mit Ölpastell-Farben "bearbeitet": einfach mal so rumschmieren macht schon mächtig Spaß. Dazu dann noch mein Lieblings-Background-Stempel von Hero Arts. Das sah dann so aus:

Zu den Ölpastellen bin ich gezwungen worden: bis jetzt habe ich eher mit Soft-Pastellen gemalt und mochte sie eigentlich auch lieber als Ölpastelle. Aber was macht man, wenn Sohn im verhassten Kunstunterricht Ölpastelle braucht und nichts damit anfangen kann? Ja genau: man nimmt sich den Kreidekasten (den er sich anschaffen musste) und probiert damit herum. Siehe da: Ölpastelle sind gar nicht mal so schlecht! Es hat eine Zeit gedauert, bis ich die verschiedenen Möglichkeiten ausprobiert habe, sie zu vermalen, aber es macht Riesenspaß! Und da mein Sohn mit Sicherheit diesen Ölpastellkasten (den er sich anschaffen musste, hab ich das schon erwähnt??) nie wieder ansehen wird, werde ich das tun ;)

I was forced to use oil pastels: up to now I only used soft pastels and liked them more than oil pastels. But what to do if your son has to buy oil pastels for the art lessons in school and does not know what to do with them? Right: you take this package (he was forced to buy one ;) ) and try around. And you recognize: oil pastels are not that bad! It took me some time to try all the different possibilties to blend them, but it's really fun. And as my son will never again use this pastel-package (he was forced to buy that - haven't I mentioned that before??) - I'll do that for him. Easy peasy :)

Witzig fand ich ja das PP für den Kreis. Ich weiß nicht, ob ihr es richtig seht, aber auf dem Papier sind viele kleine Sprechblasen, perfekt für Zitate! Und ich habe direkt das 1. Zitat aufs Cover geschrieben: "Zitat: Outsourcing des Geistes" von Aba Assa Übrigens: das oben ist kein Masking Tape; ich habe einfach ein wenig Leukoplast eingefärbt.

The circle's pp is funny. Can you see that there are small speech bubbles on it? Perfect for quotes! So I added the first quote straight on the cover: "Quote: the mind's outsourcing" by Aba Assa. btw: there is not masking tape there at the top. I just colored some leucoplast ;)

Und hier unten der Papierstreifen wurde doch extra für so ein Journal gemacht, oder? Dieses Journal soll auch eine Art Spielwiese sein, um Journal-Backgrounds auszuprobieren. Ich möchte nämlich auch noch ein BOM erstellen, das kommt aber erst danach. Lange Zeit hatte ich überhaupt keine richtige Lust zu scrappen. Irgendwie war mein Kopf voller wichtiger Dinge und Probleme und ich habe teilweise stundenlang vor meinem Material gesessen, mir Blogs angesehen und trotzdem keine Ideen gehabt. Dieses Journal hat mir meine Ideen wieder gebracht! Ich habe wieder Lust, etwas zu gestalten und meine Sachen auszupacken. Muss noch ein wenig warm werden, aber dann geht's los! Ich wünsche euch einen schönen Vatertag!

See that paper stripe at the bottom: was made for such a quotes' journal! This journal is meant to be a kind of playground in order to try out journal backgrounds. I want to make a BOM - but will begin that later on. Somehow, I did not want to scrap for a long time. My head was full of important issues and problems and I sometimes sat here for hours staring onto my stash, reading your blogs... and still did not develop any idea. This journal brought those ideas back to me! I am keen on scrapping and creating something, unpacking my craft-boxes. Have to warm up a bit more, but then - I'll be able to start again :) Have a great Fathers' Day!

Also es braucht schon Zeit, wenn man nach längerer Abstinenz wieder kreativ sein möchte. Ich habe euch ja schon hier von der Wand berichtet, an die ich ganz viele kleinere Bilder hängen möchte. Bis jetzt ist von ganz viele noch nicht so die Rede, aber ich bin auf einem guten Weg *gg*. Deshalb habe ich wieder einen kleinen Keilrahmen gemacht. Dieses Mal mit dem Thema "Enjoy the simple things" Zuerst habe ich den Keilrahmen mit Acrylfarben (blau, weiß und gelber Ocker wurden verwischt) grundiert. Das sah dann so aus:

Well, it takes indeed some time to get creative again after being abstinent for such a long period of time. Here I told you about the wall I want to decorate with tons of small pictures/ works. Ok, up to now you cannot speak of "tons of pictures", but I am on a good way *gg* Therefore I made again one of those small canvasses. The topic this time "Enjoy the simple things". First, I used acrylics for the background. I blended blue, white and yellow ochre. Afterwards it looked like this:

Der Rest war relativ einfach, hat aber am längsten gedauert. Wo soll was hin?

Der Stempel oben rechts ist mir nicht ganz so gut gelungen: es handelt sich um eine "halbe Uhr" von Rayher. Ich habe das erste Mal mit Acrylfarben direkt auf den Keilrahmen gestempelt und der Stempel kam nicht ganz vollständig heraus. Aber das fällt unter künstlerische Freiheit ;) Leider weiß ich nicht mehr, woher der Stempel links kam... deshalb kann ich dazu keine genaueren Angaben machen. Aber er gibt schon gut wieder, was ich eigentlich sagen will: "enjoy the simple things". Rechts um die Uhr herum steht der Text "time flies too fast - enjoy every single moment". Es soll ja eine Verbindung zu dem Vogel und dem Ast geben ;) Man sieht es vielleicht nicht richtig, aber die Swirls unter dem linken Stempelabdruck habe ich ein wenig "beglittert". Hier "in echt" hat das einen schönen Effekt.

The stamp on the right did not have the result I wanted it to have: it is a "half clock" by Rayher. It was the first time that I stamped directly onto the canvas with acrylics. Hence, some parts of the stamp do not show on the canvas. But that`s what we call "artistic freedom", isn`t it? ;) I unfortunately don`t remember the source of the stamp on the left side. That`s why I cannot give further details on it. But it expresses quite well what I want to say with this canvas: "Enjoy the simple things!" I completed that with the letters following the clock's silhouette: "time flies too fast - enjoy every single moment". Finally I wanted to have a connection to the bird and the branch ;) You maybe don`t see it on the photo, but I glittered the swirl on the left side a bit. Here, "in real life" it looks really great.

Viel Platz ist auf diesem Tag nicht. Die Buchstaben stammen übrigens aus einem Stempelset, das ich letztes Jahr auf einem Flohmarkt gekauft habe. Stempelschule für Kinder steht auf der Packung und die Verkäuferin hat der Kleinen, die in Zukunft damit spielen wird, viel Spass gewünscht. Sollten wir ihr ausrichten. Ok... hab ich getan und ja: ich habe viel Spaß damit *ggg* Gerade habe ich gesehen, dass Simon says stamp diese Woche eine Challenge hat, die genau zu meinem Keilrahmen passt: Bingo! Momentan habe ich keinen Lieblings-Challenge-Blog, weil caardvarks leider aufgehört hat... das ist sehr schade, denn es war der einzige Blog, auf dem ich einigermaßen regelmäßig an den Challenges teilgenommen habe. Nun bin ich auf der Suche nach einem neuen schönen Challenge Blog, denn durch die Challenges bekommt man doch immer gute Denkanstöße, was man als nächstes machen soll. Ich wünsche euch einen wundervollen Sonntag... und: Enjoy the simple things! :)

There is not too much space on this tag and I did not want to overload it. The letters are from a stamp-set I bought on a fleamarket last year (have I told you that I love fleamarkets?) "Stamping school for children" is written on the box and the woman who sold it wanted me to give her wishes for a "happy playing" with it to that child who will be using it in future. Ok... I told it to myself and yes: I have loads of fun with it *ggg* I just saw that Simon says stamp has a challenge this week which perfectly matches to my canvas: Bingo! I do not have a favourite challenge blog at the moment. Unfortunately caardvarks stopped their blog; very sad :( So I am looking for a new one. ... dann ziehe meine Schuhe an und gehe den gleichen Weg, die gleichen Berge und die gleichen Täler, die ich gegangen bin. Und dann kannst du über mich urteilen!

Das ist mein absoluter Lieblingsspruch. Als ich ihn das erste Mal irgendwo in den Weiten des Internets gelesen habe, habe ich spontan gedacht: "Wow, genau das ist es!". Ich ärgere mich maßlos über Menschen, die vorschnelle Urteile abgeben, ohne den Hintergrund zu kennen. Und ich ärgere mich über Menschen mit Vorurteilen. In meinem Leben ist das leider schon oft der Fall gewesen: Dass jemand vorschnell über mein Handeln geurteilt hat, aber nie versucht hat, mich zu fragen, warum ich etwas mache... Und deshalb habe ich mir schon länger überlegt, diesen Spruch zu verscrappen. Das Ergebnis seht ihr oben. Und weil dieser Spruch mich so beeindruckt hat, habe ich gleich ein großes G für meinen Namen darauf platziert. Auf dem G je ein größerer Stein für jedes meiner Kinder und ein kleiner für unser Enkelkind. Die Berge habe ich mit Aquarellstiften auf Aquarell-Papier schraffiert, ohne die Farbe zu verwischen. Die Blumen habe ich selbst gemacht: mit dem Herzstanzer 5 Herzen ausgestanzt, die Mitte eingeschnitten und sie mit dem Prägestift embosst. Die einzelnen Herzen habe ich dann auf einen kleinen Papp-Kreis geklebt. Ich habe unten rechts eine Art "hidden journal" angebracht. Das Band kann man ganz leicht öffnen und innen lesen, wieso mir dieser Spruch so wichtig ist und was er für mich bedeutet. Als nächstes wandert dieser Keilrahmen an die Wand über meinem Schreibtisch. This is my absolute favourite sentiment! When I read it the first time somewhere in the world-wide internet, I immediately thought: "Wow, that`s it... exactly!" People, who give their judgements too fast, without knowing the background, really annoy me. And I am furthermore annoyed by people with prejudices. And there were so many examples in my life, that people judged some of my acts or decisions but never tried to ask me for the reason... That`s why I`ve been thinking about scrapping this sentiment for a long time. The result can be seen above. And as the sentiment really impressed me, I put a big G for my name onto this LO. On this G I placed 4 stones for each of my children and a small tiny one for my grand-daughter. I cross-hatched the mountains with my watercolor-pencils onto watercolor-paper without smearing the lines. And I made the flowers by punching out 5 hearts, cutting into the center and embossing them. Then I adhered them to small cardboard circles. On the right side at the bottom you can see a kind of "hidden journal". The ribbon can easily be opened and you can read inside the reason, why this sentiment is so important for me and what it means to me. Hero Arts "Special Delivery"

Yeah, ich hab wieder was gewonnen...! Im Dezember konnte man bei Caardvarks je ein Digital Kit von Hero Arts gewinnen. Und... ich war dabei! Und da ich die Ehre habe, die Geburtsankündigungen für unsere Enkeltochter zu machen, MUSSTE ich mir natürlich das "Special Delivery" Kit aussuchen ;) Hier seht ihr die Stempel, die in diesem Kit enthalten sind und mit denen ich grade rumspiele.

Advents Journal Jar: LO in grün, rot, gold/ green, red, gold

Eine Aufgabe in meinem Advents Journal Jar lautete: "Erstelle ein LO in den Farben rot, grün, gold (gelb)" Was liegt da näher als das Foto des ersten Weihnachtsfestes meines ältesten Sohnes? Hier ist mein LO dazu:

One of the tasks in my Advent`s Journal Jar was: "Make an LO using the colours red, green, gold (yellow)". The first foto of my eldest son`s first Christmas matches quite perfectly to that... Here is my LO:

Auf dem Tab über dem Foto steht "1st Christmas" mit einem Gold-Glitzer-Stift. Die dunkelroten Swirls auf dem Vellum links sind mit Samt beflockt. Und die kleinen Christbaumkugeln habe ich erst bestempelt und dann die Sticker-Buchstaben aufgeklebt. Den kleinen Vogel rechts habe ich aus einem Freebie von den Polka Dot Chicks aus dem Christmas Convoy 2009 ausgeschnitten und dann mit rotem Glitzer umrandet. Ich finde, es ist etwas schwierig, die 80er Jahre zu verscrappen: für moderne LOs ist es zu lange her, aber so richtig Vintage ist es auch nicht. Ich hoffe, mir ist hier ein Zwischending gelungen... The tab at the foto says: "1st Christmas" and is written with a golden glitter pen. The dark-red swirls on the vellum on the left are flocked. And I first stamped the small ornaments before I adhered the golden sticker letters. The small bird on the right side has been cut from a paper of the Christmas Convoy 2009 from the Polka Dot Chicks before I added red glitter to it. I find it quite hard to scrap fotos from the 80ies: they are too old for modern designs, but not old enough for a vintage style. I hope that I managed to make something in between here... Advent Journal Jar: #1 Schneemann / Snowman

So, obwohl es viele Termine diese Woche gibt, freu ich mich doch über jeden Tag, an dem ich mich mit dem Advents Journal Jar beschäftigen kann! Die erste Frage hieß: "Wann hast du deinen letzten Schneemann gebaut?" Ähm, schwierige Frage, weil das ewig her ist... und das steht auch auf meinem Journalling: "Gute Frage - nächste Frage. Ich glaube, ich habe meinen letzten Schneemann vor 6 Jahren gebaut. Denn Schneemann-Bauen hat entscheidende Nachteile: KÄLTE, EIS, NÄSSE. Und: man kann es nur im Winter tun"

Although having so many appointments this week, I am looking forward to each day I am able to work on my advent journal jar! The first question was: "When did you make your last snowman?" Errrr, difficult question, because that was ages ago... and this can also be read on my journalling: "Good question - next question. I think, I made my last snowman about 6 yrs ago. Because making snowman has enormous disadvantages: COLD, ICE, WETNESS. And: you can do it only in winter"

Ich habe das LO absichtlich eher schlicht gehalten. Zum Einen wollte ich ja unbedingt die erste Frage auch fertig kriegen. Aber zum anderen ist Schnee nun einmal weiß. Und zu Eis/ Kälte passt am besten blau. Deshalb eher wenig auf dem LO, dafür aber viele Schneeflocken. Außerdem habe ich diese Frage (danke liebe WiMa *g*) zum Anlass genommen, dieses Jahr einen Schneemann zu bauen. Und das Foto kommt auf diese Seite... hab schon extra Platz gelassen, damit ich das auch wirklich mache *gg*.

I wanted to make the LO quite plain. On the one hand I wanted to finalize the first question on time, but on the other hand: snow is definitely white. That`s a fact. And the color which matches perfectly to snow/ cold/ ice is blue. Therefore the LO is quite empty, has, however, lots of snowflakes. And I took this question as a kind of motivation to make a snowman this year! And the foto will be sticked to this page... I left some space for it in the center; that will guarantee that I really do that (hopefully) *gg*

So. Nachdem ich ja hier schon mal meinen Herbst-Keilrahmen gezeigt hatte, habe ich nun den Winter Keilrahmen fertig. Hier ist er:

Winter ist für mich Kälte, Schnee, Eis, nass, brrrrrrr. Das mag ich nicht. Früher war Winter für mich = Horror. Heute bin ich soweit, dass ich Spaziergänge im Schnee an einem eiskalten Tag mit Sonne echt genieße. Liegt wohl am Alter, wie schon meine Herbst-Laune *g*. Jedenfalls bedeutet Winter für mich auch jede Menge Glitzer. Und das wollte ich auf meinem Keilrahmen auch zeigen.

For me, winter is cold, snow, ice, wet, brrrrrr. I don't like that. In the past,. winter for me was = horror. Today I accept it to that extend, that I really enjoy walks in snow on ice-cold days with sun. Depends on the age, I think, like my "autumn-mood" *gg* Anyway, winter for me means loads of glitter. And that`s what I wanted to show on this canvas.

Ich habe also den Keilrahmen zuerst mit einer Mischung aus Titan-Weiß und Brilliant Blau Acrylfarben von Talens bemalt. Und dann kam im oberen Teil der Glitzer: ich habe in die feuchte Farbe Glitter in türkis/ aqua und weiß eingestreut. Danach noch ein paar kleine Plastik-Schneeflocken verteilt. Den unteren Teil habe ich mit einem Deko-Vlies bespannt. Der hatte schon jede Menge Glitzer auf den Schneeflocken und passte perfekt zu meiner Kombi. Und so sah der Keilrahmen dann aus: Ich habe diese Fotos gemacht, um zu zeigen, wie glitzerig der Hintergrund ist und hoffe, ihr könnt das auch erkennen.

So first I painted the canvas with a mixture of Titanium-white and Brilliant Blue acrylics by Talens. And then I added the glitter to the upper part: I sprinkled some aqua/ turquoise and white glitter into the wet paint and added some plastic snowflakes. The bottom part of the canvas has been covered with a deko-fabric (fleece). There was a lot of glitter on it on the snowflakes and therefore it fitted perfectly to my combo. And this is the canvas afterwards: I made these photos in order to show you how "glittery" the background is and hope that you can see that.

Auf dem Tag steht "Dreaming of Winterschlaf". Hach ja, das wäre schön... so von Oktober bis Mai. Die Ho Ho Ho sind aus der Schriftart "Christmas Cheer" von dafont.com. Und was gehört zum Winter dazu? Richtig, Weihnachten. Deshalb dürfen auch der kleine Engel und der Weihnachtsbaum nicht fehlen. Oben ist ein kleiner Clearstamps-Stempel (hm, doppeltgemoppelt i-wie....) mit Schneemännern. Einen weiteren Stempel habe ich auf den Winter-Tag gemacht: Ich habe erst den Engel einmal gestempelt, Glitter auf die Flügel gestreut. Dann den Engel noch einmal gestempelt und alles, bis auf die Flügel ausgeschnitten. Die Flügel wären zu klein gewesen, als dass ich nur sie hätte "beglittern" können... so war es auch noch ne Mega-Popelei, aber ich finde, es wirkt ganz gut. Hier ist er nochmal ein wenig unscharf (leider):

The tag says: "Dreaming of... Winterschlaf (winter sleep)". Peeps, wouldn`t that be great? From October to May... The Ho Ho Ho are from a font called "Christmas Cheer" available at dafont.com. And... what else belongs to the winter?? Right: Christmas. And therefore the small angel and the christmas trees are essential for my canvas. At the top is a small Clear-Stamp with snowmen. And another stamp is on the winter-tag. First I stamped the angel once and sprinkled some glitter onto the wings. Then I stamped it another time and cut out everything besides the wings. They would have been to small to glitter just them... so it was much easier to stick the second angel onto the first one. Here is a photo, a bit blurred (unfortunately)

Advents Journal Jar

Ich glaube, jetzt darf ich es auch auf meinem Blog zeigen. Und darauf freue ich mich seit Wochen! Bei Scrappermania hat Steffie-Hexe einen Advents-Journal-Jar Austausch organisiert. Und da ich noch niemals an einem SWAP oder irgendwas Ähnlichem teilgenommen habe, dachte ich, das sei doch ein schöner Einstieg. Hier ist das Journal Jar, das ich bekommen habe:

Ist das nicht schööööön? Hach, ich liebe es und freue mich jetzt schon riiiiesig darauf, damit zu arbeiten. Hoffentlich ist bald der 1.12. Leider hab ich am Dienstag soooo viele Termine, dass ich mich (hoffentlich) Abends erst daran machen kann. Es ging also darum, ein Journal zu basteln und dazu dann 24 Fragen und 12 Aufgaben zu stellen. Ich bin echt gespannt darauf, was letztendlich am 24.12. so alles in meinem ersten Journal stehen wird. Hier ist die Dose mit den Aufgaben und Fragen...

Isn't it toooo beautiful? I love it and I`m looking forward to working with it. Hopefully the 1st of December comes soon, but unfortunately my whole Tuesday is full of appointments, so I hope to be able to begin it in the evening. We had to make a journal and additionally 24 questions and 12 "scrap-challenges". I am sooo curious to see what my journal will look like on the 24th. Der November ist ja bei uns ein Stress-Monat, weil irgendwie alles, was Beine hat und zu unserem Bekannten-/ Verwandtenkreis gehört, Geburtstag hat... Nun sind fast alle vorbei.... Zeit, schnell mal wieder was zu schreiben, denn ich war ja nicht ganz untätig. Hier ist meine erste Weihnachtskarte: mit einem Minialbum... Rechts ist ein Foto, auf dem man die Vorderseite des Albums ohne Schleife sieht. Weiter unten könnt ihr dann den Inhalt des Albums sehen.

Well, November is a kind of stressfull month for us, as nearly everybody having legs and belonging to our friends / relatives has his birthday... Now, most of these birthdays are over and I have time to write something again, 'cause I was not inactive in the past weeks. Here is my first christmas card for this year: with a mini album on it.... on the right is a foto of the front of this album without the ribbon. If you scroll down a bit you will see the inside of the album.

Es hat lange gedauert, bis ich die Karte fertig hatte... aber das lag allein daran, dass es soooo viel Spass gemacht hat, diese Karte zu machen und die einzelnen Seiten zu gestalten. Wie immer hab ich länger als die anderen gebraucht, mir auszusuchen, was denn auf den Seiten drauf sein soll *gg* Hier also das Innere des Albums, wenn man es auseinander zieht.

It really took it's time to finalize this card... but this was just due to the fact that it was soooo much fun to make this card and to design the single pages. Like always, it took most of the time to chose what to make on these pages *gg* Here is the inside of the album after stretching the front page.

Der Hirsch auf der ersten Seite ist ein Sticker und der Kranz auf der letzten Seite ein Kranz, die ich mit Aquarell-Farben coloriert habe. Ich mag diesen Vintage-Look... Im Großen und Ganzen bin ich richtig stolz auf diese Karte und überlege mir nun, wer sie denn bekommt ;)

The deer on the first page is a sticker and the wreath on the last page a stamp. I coloured both with watercolours. I like this vintage look... And I'm really a bit proud of this card, trying to chose someone who will receive it :) Hope, you like it....

4 Jahreszeiten: Herbst / The 4 seasons: Autumn

Also irgendwie rennt die Woche an mir vorbei wie ein Mega-Schnellzug... kaum hat sie angefangen, schwupps: ist sie schon wieder vorbei. Kein Wunder, dass man so schnell älter wird *gg*. Vor ein paar Wochen habe ich mir ein Paket mit 4 kleinen Keilrahmen gekauft. Klein heißt 15x15 cm. Ich habe erst hinund her überlegt, was so alles mit der Zahl 4 verbunden wird: die 4 Ps (kleiner Insider, ein Begriff aus dem Marketing... ich kenne grade jemanden, der ein Referat dazu halten muss *gg*), die 4 Musketiere ;), die 4 Kerzen auf dem Adventskranz... naja, ich bin dann zu den 4 Jahreszeiten gekommen. Und da auf Creadoo gerade ein passender Scrapbook-Contest stattfand, habe ich mal mit dem HERBST angefangen:

Well, somehow the week's running past me like an express train... it has barely begun and... hey! It`s over... No wonder that you`re (no, not you, but ME) getting older sooo fast! *gg*. I bought a packet with 4 small canvasses a few weeks ago. Small means 15x15 cm. I thought about what to combine with this number "4": the 4 Ps (just an insider joke, a marketing term... someone I know has to write a review on this topic *gg*), the 4 muskatry (hm, muskatries?), the 4 candles on the Advent wreath... well, I decided to chose the 4 seasons finally. And as there was just a scrapbooking-contest on Creadoo, I began with AUTUMN:

Die Farben orange und dunkelrot passen zu 700% in unser Wohnzimmer. Wobei ich mich noch nicht entschieden habe, wo die Keilrahmen letztendlich hängen sollen. Und sie passen natürlich perfekt zum Herbst... Ich habe den unteren Teil des Keilrahmens wie eine Tasche gehalten, denn der Tag hat auch eine Rückseite... das Journalling lautet: "Herbst ist..." und auf der Rückseite: "...inzwischen meine Lieblingsjahreszeit. Früher konnte ich den Herbst nicht ausstehen mit seinen Stürmen, dem Regen, der frühen Dunkelheit. Heute finde ich es heimelig und richtig toll, wenn man an den letzten Spätsommerabenden noch etwas unternehmen kann. Ich gehe inzwischen gerne im Herbst durch den Wald... und trinke hinterher einen heißen Kaffee und nehm mir ein gutes Buch vor. Wann kommt man im Sommer schon dazu?". Man kann es leider auf dem Foto nicht so gut erkennen, aber ich habe unten auf dem dunkelroten Papier am Rand entlang alle Worte, die mir zum Herbst einfallen, geschrieben. Ok, dann werde ich mich mal an die nächste Jahreszeit machen: den Winter... wünsche allen ein super schönes Herbst-Wochenende! Gabriele

Orange and dark-red match to 700% to our living room. Although I'm not sure up to now where these canvasses will find their final "destination". And these colours, of course, perfectly match the autumn... I made a kind of bag out of the bottom part of the canvas, as the tag also has a back-side... the journalling is: "Autumn is..." and on the back: "... in the meantime my favourite season. In the past, I could not stand the autumn with its' storms, the rain and the early darkness. But today I love it if you are able to make something on the last late-summer-days. I love to walk through the autumn forest... and afterwards to read a good book with a good, hot coffee. Hence, it`s seldom that you are doing that in summer times, isn't it?" Unfortunately you cannot see it on the foto, but I wrote all autumn-words I can imagine as a kind of border onto the dark-red paper at the bottom. Well... I`ll start now with the next season: winter. Journal Jar #7: Wie soll es denn heißen? / What`s the baby's name?

Naa, wie soll das Kind denn heißen? Ich kann mich noch sehr gut an die Namens-Auswahl für unseren jüngsten Sohn erinnern. Wir wussten vorher nicht, ob es ein Junge oder Mädchen wird (obwohl mir mein Gefühl gaaaanz deutlich sagte, es würde ein Mädchen). Wisst ihr, was noch eine Schwierigkeit ist, wenn es darum geht, einen Namen für das Kind zu finden? Wenn man bereits Kinder hat. Meine älteren Söhne waren zu der Zeit 12 und 8 Jahre alt und wollten natürlich mitreden. Und das sollten sie ja auch. Wir haben es also so gemacht: Wir haben eine Kladde offen hingelegt und jeder, der einen Einfall hatte, konnte seinen Wunschnamen in dieses Heft eintragen und absolute "No-Go-Namen" durchstreichen. Ooooh ja, das Heft war wirklich gut gefüllt: mit Namen und mit Strichen. Es war echt nicht einfach und wäre unser Sohn ein Mädchen geworden, wäre sie wohl die ersten Tage oder Wochen ohne Namen geblieben... Heute wünsche ich mir manchmal, ich hätte dieses Heft aufbewahrt. Aber zwei Umzüge später ist es leider nicht mehr da. Und deshalb habe ich diese Seite ins Journal für unsere Tochter eingefügt:

Well, what will the baby's name finally be? I remember quite well how we chose the name for our youngest son. We did not know, whether it would be a boy or girl (although my inner feelings told me soooooo clearly, it would be a girl). And you know the next difficulty if you want to find a name for the baby? If you already have children. My elder sons were 12 and 8 yrs at that time and of course they wanted to have a say. And we also wanted them to have their say. So we decided to have a notebook lying on a sideboard. And whenever somebody hat an idea, he could write this name into the book and also scratch absolute no-go-names out. Oooooh, yes, the notebook was filled quite well: with names and scratches... It was not easy indeed and should our son had become a girl, she would have stayed without a name during the first days or weeks... Today I wish I had kept this notebook. But after being moved to another house twice since then we somehow lost it. And therefore I inserted this page into our daughter`s journal:

Journal Jar: Namenswahl / Baby`s name

Ja, ihr denkt wahrscheinlich, dass die Streifen, auf die man die Namen schreiben soll, nicht ausreichen werden. Und ich bin mir relativ sicher, dass dem auch so ist. Aber genau deshalb hab ich mich ja für ein Ringbuch entschieden: unsere Tochter kann so viel oder so wenig wie sie möchte hinzufügen. Unten auf der Seite habe ich einen Teil aus einem Vornamenslexikon eingescannt, verkleinert und ausgedruckt. Dann mit hellblauen/ rosa Pastellkreiden eingefärbt. In den Ecken unten seht ihr einen Stempel (Swirls). Leider ist er mir irgendwie aus dem Bild gehüpft *denk*. Ich habe leider keine Marke der Blumen-Embellishments gefunden... Das Papier für die Herzen ist von Heyda. Die Tags auf den Herzen mit Stempelkissen eingefärbt, mit Feder und Scriptol beschriftet. Bis zum nächsten Mal, Gabriele

Yes, you'll probably think that the paper strips for the names won`t be enough, and you`ll probably be right. But that`s exactly why I decided to take a ring binder: our daughter will be able to add as much as she wants to to the journal. The title says: "The baby will be accompanied by his name every day of his life. It should therefore be well considered. Here is the place for this..." For the paper at the bottom I scanned a page from a dictionary of first names, scaled it down and printed it. Then I coloured it with light-blue/ pink pastell chalks. You can (hopefully) see a rest of a swirls stamp in the two corners at the bottom. Unfortunately they hopped a bit out of my photo... *sigh* I did not find any trade name on the package with the flower embellishments. The paper for the hearts is from Heyda. On the hearts there are tags saying "boy" and "girl". I wrote them with a pen and black ink (scriptol). CU next time here again, Gabriele

Journal Jar #5: der Bauch / the belly

Mein Journal soll ja eine Art "Mitmach-Buch" werden. Und da, wie schon erwähnt, unsere Tochter bisher nicht scrappt, habe ich einige vorgefertigte Seiten gemacht, die sie nur ergänzen muss. Hier hab ich jetzt eine davon: den Bauch *gg* ok, sagen wir genauer: den Bauchumfang. Titel: "Schwan|ger|schaft: Das Gegenteil zur Bikini-Diät" Als unsere Tochter nämlich von der Schwangerschaft erfuhr, meinte sie: "Hach, da brauch ich mir ja dieses Jahr über eine Bikini-Diät keine Gedanken machen"

The journal is supposed to become a kind of "interactive journal". And as, our daughter never scrapped before, as mentioned before, I inserted some pre-designed pages. She only has to complete the pages. Here is now one of them: the belly *gg* ok, let`s say it more precise: the measurements. The title says: "Pregnancy: the contrary to bikini-diet". When our daughter heard of the pregnancy, she said: "Err, so I do not need to waste any thoughts on a bikini-diet this year".

Diese Seite ist also speziell dazu da, den Bauchumfang zu dokumentieren. Die nächsten Seiten sind leer. So kann sie Fotos einfügen. Am besten kann man vergleichen, wenn die Fotos immer im z.B. gleichen T-Shirt gemacht werden. Auf die Seite selbst habe ich Tags angebracht: auf jedem einzelnen Tag steht: "Datum: cm:". So hat sie irgendwann eine Art "Daumenkino". Die Tags habe ich unterschiedlich verziert. Mit Stempeln, mit PP, mit Stiften, mit Rub-Ons... halt alles Mögliche, womit man halt so verziert :)

Thus, this page especially focusses on keeping records referring the belly's measurements. The following pages are empty, so that she can add fotos. Best would be, if you take each foto in the same e.g. t-shirt. It`s much easier to compare them, respectively to get a better impression later on. I wrote that onto the tag at the bottom of the page: "You can see on the tags how the belly's growing. The next pages are for fotos". I added some tags onto the page using silver wire. Each tab has written "date: cm:" on it. If she wants to, she can have something like a "flip book". I embellished the tags in different ways: with stamps, PP, with pens, rub-ons,... just everything you use for embellishing :)

Journal Jar #4: Innenteil Nr2/ Inner part No 2

Nachdem beim letzten Mal ja der vordere Innenteil dran war, zeige ich Euch heute den hinteren Teil. Hier sind 2 Bilder: Unten auf der Seite ist eine Tasche für Schnickschnack: Schnippsel, Katalogausschnitte... alles halt, was man noch nicht aufkleben kann. Ich habe die Tasche aus schwarzem Karton gemacht und oben den Tab mit ein paar Stichen angebracht. Die süüüüßen Schafe sind übrigens hier zu finden. Sie stammen aus dem "Good night little lamb"- Kit von Numb Bumm. Ich habe ein paar Schafe noch einmal zusätzlich mit Abstandshaltern auf geklebt. Der Body stammt von der Canon-Seite. Dort gibt es wunderschöne 3D-Bögen zum Ausdrucken passend zum Baby-Thema!

After showing you the inner part at the front of the binder, I`ll proceed by showing you the back inner part. Here are 2 pictures: On the bottom of the page I have a kind of bag for all the paper pieces waiting to be glued to a page. I made it from black cardboard and stitched a tab to the top of it (the title "Schnick und Schnack" means bits and pieces). These cuuutie sheep can be found here. They are from the "Good night little lamb" kit by Numb Bumm. I additionally adhered a few single sheep with foam pads. The onesie comes from the Canon-website. You will find great 3D-sheets there, not only referring to the baby-theme :)

Journal Jar #3: die Innenseite / Inside the journal

Nachdem ihr nun die Außenseite des Ringbuches und das Glas gesehen habt, möchte ich Euch den Innenteil auch nicht vorenthalten. Hier kommt also die erste Seite (es handelt sich um die Innenseite des Ringbuch-Einbandes). Zum Einen wollte ich einen Einstieg in das "Mutter-Thema" finden. Und dazu passte das Mini-Kit "Lovely Day" von Tiffany Tillman einfach perfekt! Kennt ihr die Seite von ihr? Ihr findet sie hier. Ich kann mich auf ihrer Seite gar nicht satt sehen: sie hat so viele super Ideen, dass man immer wieder eine neue Inspiration findet.

After showing you the outer part of the ring binder and the jar, I do not want to withhold the inner part of the journal from you. Here now is the first page (it is the inner side of the ring binder's cover). On the one hand I wanted to find an introduction into the "mother-topic". And this mini-kit "Lovely Day" by Tiffany Tillman just perfectly matches this topic! Do you know her website? You can find it here. I cannot stop watching her website: there are soooo many cool ideas, that you`ll find new inspiration whenever you visit it.

Aus diesem Mini-Kit ist das Hintergrund-Papier, aber auch der Spruch: "Mother - a mother is she who can take the place of all others, but whose place no one else can take". Er ist so passend, oder? Oben seht ihr einen Umschlag, den ich für unsere Tochter gemacht habe, denn natürlich wollte ich ihr auch ein paar sehr persönliche Worte zukommen lassen. Es ist schließlich ein wirklich einzigartiger, wundervoller neuer Abschnitt in ihrem Leben. Den soll man ja nicht unkommentiert lassen, oder? Es hat ein wenig den Anschein, als wäre die Klappe des Umschlages schief. Das liegt allerdings daran, dass sie nicht ganz geschlossen war, als ich das Foto gemacht habe. Den Umschlag selbst habe ich silber-schwarz-weiß gehalten: ich mag dieses Paisly-Papier sehr gerne und meiner Meinung nach passt es perfekt zu schwarz.... ich hoffe, dieser Einstieg in das Journal gefällt Euch! Wünsche allen einen schönen Herbst-Tag (hier kommt gottseidank gerade noch einmal die Sonne raus!)

Both, the background paper but also the wordart is from this kit. The wordart is "MOTHER - a mother is she who can take the place of all others, but whose palce no one else can take". It's that true, isn't it? At the top of the page you find an envelope I made for our daughter. I wanted to send her some personal words. It is, finally, a unique, wonderful new phase in her life. And that shouldn`t be left without any comment, should it? It seems a bit as if the envelope's closing would be inclined. But this resulted from the fact, that the closing was a bit open when I took the photo. I promise! The envelope itself is in silver-black-white: I love this paisley-paper and imho it perfectly matches to any black paper. I hope you like this introduction into the journal! Super Tool: CK Type Ruler

Ich habe letztens ein wirklich super Tool für alle Papier-Scrapper und Kartenbastler entdeckt! Den CK Type Ruler. Bei Creating Keepsakes gibt es eine Hilfe, wie man die perfekte Schriftgröße für sein LO oder seine Karte findet. Ich habe es jetzt schon ein paar Mal im Einsatz gehabt und möchte nicht mehr drauf verzichten. Vielleicht ist es ja auch für den ein oder anderen von Euch eine Hilfe? Den Download findet ihr jedenfalls hier.

Journal Jar #2: the JAR

Speziell für Cuchy... kommt hier nun das JAR, also das Glas, zum Journal Jar.

Ich habe auf dem Deckel wieder das gleiche Papier verwendet, wie auf der Vorderseite des Ringbuches. Vorne seht ihr 2 Baby-Schuhe, einen in rosa und einen in hellblau. Die Vorlage zu den Schuhen könnt ihr hier finden (Vielen Dank noch einmal an Tanya :) ) Im Glas sind die Fragen versteckt: ich habe sie auf Papierstreifen geschrieben. Die Streifen habe ich mit verschiedenen Zier-Scheren ausgeschnitten und dann zusammen gerollt. Die Aufgabe ist es, immer dann, wenn man Lust dazu hat, einen Streifen aus dem Glas zu holen und die Frage darauf im Journal zu beantworten... der Phantasie sind keine Grenzen gesetzt! Möchtet Ihr ein paar Beispiele? Was war Dein erster Gedanke, als du gehört hast, dass du schwanger bist? Wie haben die zukünftigen Großeltern reagiert? Die 10 nervigsten Fragen, die man Schwangeren stellt? Welche Traditionen aus deiner Kindheit möchtest du für Dein Kind übernehmen? Und welche nicht? Insgesamt habe ich ca. 20 Fragen in das Glas gelegt. Hinzu kommen ja noch die Aufgaben von den einzelnen Seiten. Für 40 Wochen also genug zu tun, denke ich ;-) Bis zum nächsten Mal, Gabriele

The lid is made out of the same paper I used for the front of the ring binder. You can see 2 baby-booties: a light-blue and a pink one. You can find the template for the booties here Thanks a lot again to Tanya for her website! There are questions inside the jar: I wrote them onto paper strips. The strips have been cut out with different scissors, so that they vary in their shape. You have to take one stripe out of the jar, whenever you want to, and to answer the respective question on one of the empty pages in the journal... there are no limits to one's phantasy! Want to read some examples? What was your first thought when you heard you were pregnant? Which reaction did the future grandparents show? The top-ten of the most annoying questions you hear during your pregnancy Write down the traditions you want to adopt for your child. And those you do not want to adopt! There were 20 questions in my jar. And additionally the tasks on the single pages. I think, this is enough to do within 40 weeks ;-) See you soon, Gabriele

Rubba Duck

Ich habe hier noch ein paar Fotos von unserem Pfingstausflug an den Aasee herum liegen, die ich noch nicht verscrappt habe. Dieses Geduldspiel mit den Enten wollte ich auf jeden Fall verewigen. Anfangs hatten wir nämlich nicht damit gerechnet, dass die Ente mit ihren Küken noch nah genug kommen und auch bleiben wird. Aber... mit Geduld und Spucke ;) Die Kreise auf der rechten Seite sind mit Pastellstiften gezeichnet. Ich glaube, der Corner chomper wird noch sehr oft Verwendung bei mir finden... wie einfach manche Dinge doch mit dem entsprechenden Werkzeug gehen... Journalling: "Anfangs war die Ente ja skeptisch. Aber du hast echte Geduld bewiesen, bist immer ein Stückchen näher heran gerückt. Und zum Schluß ist sie mit ihren Küken geblieben... Sie hat dich lange beobachtet... und für freundlich befunden. Und damit hat sie ja Recht!" Überschrift des Journallings: "Der Entenflüsterer"

I still have several fotos from our picknick trip during the Pentecost holidays. We went to the "Lake Aa" (Aasee). I definitely wanted to eternalize these moments of real patience. At the beginning we did not think that the duck would come near enough with her ducklings or even stay. But: patience gains the day, doesn't it? ;) Circles on the right side are drawn with pastels. I think, the corner chomper will be in regular use here on my desk... how easy some things turn out using the right tools... Journalling: "In the beginning, the duck was sceptical. But you proved to be real patient and moved further step by step. And finally she stayed with her ducklings... she observed you for quite a long time... and finally you've been found to be a polite human. And she`s definitely right with that!" The title of the journalling says: "The Duck Whisperer"

Journal Jar Schwangerschaft / pregnancy

Ja, es gibt da so einige Vorteile, wenn man Oma wird... Ein Vorteil liegt darin, dass man auf einmal siebenhunderttausend Dinge hat, die man gerne machen möchte. Bei creadoo hat Steffie-Hexe mir die geniale Inspiration gegeben: ein Schwangerschafts-Journal-Jar. Auf ihrem Blog hat Steffie verschiedene Journal Jars; der Besuch lohnt sich! Für alle, die nicht wissen, was ein Journal Jar ist: es handelt sich um ein Buch (Journal), das man zu allen möglichen Themen erstellen kann. Dazu gibt es ein Glas (Jar), in dem kleine Streifen mit Fragen sind. Beispiel Schwangerschaft: Auf den Streifen befinden sich Fragen wie "Was hast du zuerst gedacht, als du erfahren hast, dass du schwanger bist?" Der Empfänger des Journal Jar kann nun nach und nach, wann immer er möchte einen Streifen aus dem Glas nehmen, in das Buch kleben, heften und die Frage dort beantworten. Dem Scrappen sind keine Grenzen gesetzt, wenn man daran denkt, dass die Seiten ja auch geschmückt werden müssen! Als ich vor einigen Monaten Steffies Journal Jar gesehen hatte, habe ich spontan gedacht: hoffentlich wird unsere Tochter bald schwanger (so grob geplant war es ja schon...), damit ich sowas machen kann.... und wie ihr schon gelesen habt, ist das ja nun eingetroffen. Sie scrappt eigentlich nicht; deshalb habe ich mir überlegt, eine Art Misch-Masch zu machen: Einerseits ein Journal Jar im klassischen Sinne, aber andererseits wollte ich auch einige Seiten "vorgeben", damit man einen Eindruck bekommt, wie das Buch embellished werden kann. Das hatte natürlich zur Folge, dass ein Notizbuch nicht so gut geeignet ist und so habe ich mich für ein Ringbuch entschieden. Ich möchte Euch auf meinem Blog ab heute dieses Journal Jar vorstellen. Ich hoffe, es gefällt Euch. Und am allermeisten hoffe ich, dass unsere Tochter genauso viel Spass beim Füllen des Journals hat, wie ich es beim erstellen hatte. Wobei: Der Spass oder die Freude, die ich hatte, als ich ihr dieses Journal gegeben habe und gesehen habe, dass sie sich darüber freut, übertrifft noch jeglichen Fun, den ich beim basteln hatte! Ihr seht nun heute die Vorderseite des Ringbuches: Wieder mal Summerdriggs... ich mag ihre Kits wirklich gern, der regelmäßige Leser wird das gemerkt haben *gg*. Der Titel des Journals "Coming Soon" (auch wenn ich weiß, wie sehr sich so ein SOON in den letzten beiden Monaten ziehen kann ;-) ). Außerdem der Rücken des Buches: BABY, ich mein, man sollte ja wissen, was drinne ist, oder?

There are, indeed, quite a few advantages if you're becoming a grandmother... One of them is definitely, that you suddenly have sevenhundred things on your to-do-list you want to make. I got some great inspiration on creadoo from Steffie-Hexe: a pregnancy journal jar. If you visit her blog, you can see several journal jars... For those of you who do not know a journal jar: it is a kind of book (journal), which you can use for thousand different occasions. With this book you get a jar with lots of paper strips. These strips contain questions. If you take the pregnancy example: There are questions like "What were your first thoughts when you heard that you`re pregnant?". The recipient of the journal can reply to those questions one after the other... any time she likes to she takes one stripe out of the jar, fixes it to a page in the book and writes down her thoughts regarding that question. There are no limits at all with regards to scrapbooking, as the pages also have to be embellished! When I saw Steffie's journal jar some months ago, my first thought was: hopefully our daughter becomes pregnant soon (there was a rough time plan for this pregnancy ;-) ), so that I can make one of those jars... and as you've read before, she became pregnant now... She is not used to scrapbooking; that's why I decided to make a kind of "mix-max": On the one hand a journal jar like a.m., but I wanted to provide some pre-made pages in order to show her how one could embellish this book. That meant, however, that a book in its usual sense would not have been the best choice. That's why I decided to take a ring binder. From today on I want to present this journal jar to you on this blog. I want to show, how I made the pages, which inspiration I used and maybe give some of this inspiration to you. I will mention all the links which helped me to finalize the journal. I hope you'll like it. But most of all I hope that our daughter will have as much fun with filling the journal as I had making it! :) Btw: The fun I had when I gave her the journal and saw how much she liked it is one of a kind and beats any fun I had while crafting :) Today you'll see the front of the binder: Again Summerdriggs... I love her kits and readers of my blog will definitely have recognized that *gg*. The title "Coming Soon" (although I know how long a SOON can be in the last 2 months of a pregnancy ;-) ) Furthermore the spine of the ring binder: BABY... I mean, you should know what`s inside, shouldn't you? ;-)

Crop-A-Dile-Corner-Chomper von Bettypepper

Juchu, juchu, juchu! Ich habe gewonnen. Das allererste Mal in meinem Leben, dass ich etwas gewonnen habe! Ich hab noch NIE etwas gewonnen... noch nicht einmal diese Gewinne, die andere Briefkästen fluten und bei denen man seinen Gewinn im Rahmen einer Kaffeefahrt bekommt ;-) Vor einiger Zeit wurde bei Wanaba alles mögliche verlost. Ich habe teilgenommen. Aus o.g. Gründen gar nicht mit einem Gewinn gerechnet und bekomme auf einmal eine E-Mail von Michaela: du hast gewonnen. Ihr kennt das, oder? Man guggt erst mal, ob das nicht ein Scherz ist... Es war keiner, denn gestern hat der Postmann 2 mal geklingelt... Das ist wie Weihnachten... ich war ja sooo aufgeregt, obwohl ich vorher schon wusste, was in meinem Päckchen ist: Über den neuen Shop Bettypepper (das Stöbern lohnt sich übrigens! Klickt mal schnell HIER) wurde unter anderem ein Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper verlost. Übrigens: es freut mich ungemein, dass mein erster Gewinn ausgerechnet von Bettypepper kommt. Der Shop ist noch relativ neu und Betty hatte sich vor einigen Wochen bei scrap-impulse vorgestellt. Ihre Geschichte liest sich fast so wie meine... mir sind da sofort einige Parallelen aufgefallen (ok, ich hab keinen Scrap-Shop *gg* Aber sonst so...). Gestern also kam mein Crop-A-Dile. Ein super Tool! Es ist so super, dass man zur Zeit kein Fizzelchen Papier hier im Haushalt findet, das eckige Ecken hat *gg* Habe sofort alles mögliche abgerundet. Und es hat wunderbar geklappt! Man kann seine runden Ecken in 2 Größen "chompen": 1/2" (=1,27 cm) oder aber 1/4" (=0,64 cm). Ich habe hier auf dem Foto mal 2 Beispiele zur Verdeutlichung.

Yay, yay, yay! I won. The first time in my life I won something! I`ve NEVER won anything before! Not even one of those prizes which flood mailboxes and where you'll get your prize on the occasion of a day trip (as I don't know whether you also have this in other countries, although I really assume it, I want to explain that to foreign readers: these day trips are done by bus. The aim of these trips is to sell e.g. matrices, pots etc for a real huge price. The salesmen use rough, strong methods to sell their stuff. People are, for example, not allowed to leave the room during the presentation of the goods. Here in Germany, these day trips are mainly seen as fraud. As nearly nobody wants to join such a trip, promoters send letters by snail-mail, saying that you won e.g. 3,000 EUR, but will get your money only if you make such a trip). Some time ago, Wanaba drew several prizes. I participated by giving a comment. Due to the a.m. reasons I did not reckon to win and suddenly I received a mail from Michaela: you won! You know that, don`t you? You check such mails twice, whether there`s a joke or not... It was no joke, because yesterday the postman rang twice... It's a bit like Christmas... I was sooo exited, although I knew what was in my packet. The new Shop Bettypepper (btw: it's really worth it browsing through the shop!) drew, among others, a Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper. Oh, not to forget: I am really happy to have my first prize ever from Bettypepper. Betty gave a short introduction of herself some weeks ago at scrap-impulse and her shop is quite new. Her history is very similar to mine... there were at once several similarities I found... (ok, I do not have a scrap-shop, I admit... *gg*) Ok, yesterday my Crop-A-Dile arrived. A great tool! It is so great, that you won`t find any snippet of paper here in our household with square-cut edges. I immediately rounded all sorts of stuff *g*. And it went wonderful! You can round the edges in 2 sizes: 1/2" or 1/4". You can see both sizes here on this foto.
