So. Nachdem ich ja hier schon mal meinen Herbst-Keilrahmen gezeigt hatte, habe ich nun den Winter Keilrahmen fertig. Hier ist er:

After showing you here my autumn canvas, I`ve finalized in the meantime the winter canvas. Here it is:

Winter ist für mich Kälte, Schnee, Eis, nass, brrrrrrr. Das mag ich nicht. Früher war Winter für mich = Horror. Heute bin ich soweit, dass ich Spaziergänge im Schnee an einem eiskalten Tag mit Sonne echt genieße. Liegt wohl am Alter, wie schon meine Herbst-Laune *g*. Jedenfalls bedeutet Winter für mich auch jede Menge Glitzer. Und das wollte ich auf meinem Keilrahmen auch zeigen.

For me, winter is cold, snow, ice, wet, brrrrrr. I don't like that. In the past,. winter for me was = horror. Today I accept it to that extend, that I really enjoy walks in snow on ice-cold days with sun. Depends on the age, I think, like my "autumn-mood" *gg* Anyway, winter for me means loads of glitter. And that`s what I wanted to show on this canvas.

Ich habe also den Keilrahmen zuerst mit einer Mischung aus Titan-Weiß und Brilliant Blau Acrylfarben von Talens bemalt. Und dann kam im oberen Teil der Glitzer: ich habe in die feuchte Farbe Glitter in türkis/ aqua und weiß eingestreut. Danach noch ein paar kleine Plastik-Schneeflocken verteilt. Den unteren Teil habe ich mit einem Deko-Vlies bespannt. Der hatte schon jede Menge Glitzer auf den Schneeflocken und passte perfekt zu meiner Kombi. Und so sah der Keilrahmen dann aus: Ich habe diese Fotos gemacht, um zu zeigen, wie glitzerig der Hintergrund ist und hoffe, ihr könnt das auch erkennen.

So first I painted the canvas with a mixture of Titanium-white and Brilliant Blue acrylics by Talens. And then I added the glitter to the upper part: I sprinkled some aqua/ turquoise and white glitter into the wet paint and added some plastic snowflakes. The bottom part of the canvas has been covered with a deko-fabric (fleece). There was a lot of glitter on it on the snowflakes and therefore it fitted perfectly to my combo. And this is the canvas afterwards: I made these photos in order to show you how "glittery" the background is and hope that you can see that.

Auf dem Tag steht "Dreaming of Winterschlaf". Hach ja, das wäre schön... so von Oktober bis Mai. Die Ho Ho Ho sind aus der Schriftart "Christmas Cheer" von dafont.com. Und was gehört zum Winter dazu? Richtig, Weihnachten. Deshalb dürfen auch der kleine Engel und der Weihnachtsbaum nicht fehlen. Oben ist ein kleiner Clearstamps-Stempel (hm, doppeltgemoppelt i-wie....) mit Schneemännern. Einen weiteren Stempel habe ich auf den Winter-Tag gemacht: Ich habe erst den Engel einmal gestempelt, Glitter auf die Flügel gestreut. Dann den Engel noch einmal gestempelt und alles, bis auf die Flügel ausgeschnitten. Die Flügel wären zu klein gewesen, als dass ich nur sie hätte "beglittern" können... so war es auch noch ne Mega-Popelei, aber ich finde, es wirkt ganz gut. Hier ist er nochmal ein wenig unscharf (leider):

The tag says: "Dreaming of... Winterschlaf (winter sleep)". Peeps, wouldn`t that be great? From October to May... The Ho Ho Ho are from a font called "Christmas Cheer" available at dafont.com. And... what else belongs to the winter?? Right: Christmas. And therefore the small angel and the christmas trees are essential for my canvas. At the top is a small Clear-Stamp with snowmen. And another stamp is on the winter-tag. First I stamped the angel once and sprinkled some glitter onto the wings. Then I stamped it another time and cut out everything besides the wings. They would have been to small to glitter just them... so it was much easier to stick the second angel onto the first one. Here is a photo, a bit blurred (unfortunately)

Scrapbook Fotorahmen / Scrapbook foto frame

Hier in Ibbenbüren gibt es den Aasee. Der ist eher... klein bis mittelgroß (eine Runde um den Aasee ist ca. 2,5 km lang). Aber: er hat 'nen "Beach". Ich glaube, jede Stadt mit Wasser hat einen "Beach". Pfingsten war hier super Wetter. An einem Tag waren wir zum Picknick unterwegs und am Pfingstmontag bin ich mit 2 meiner Söhne dann zum Aasee-Beach gegangen. Das hat einen enormen Nachteil: man findet dort Liegestühle und ein Sofa. Und sitzt man erst mal auf diesem Sofa, bringt einen fast nix mehr zum Aufstehen. Alles in Allem waren wir 3 Stunden da und es war wie Urlaub! Die Palmen, der Sand... das Wasser in der Nähe. Einfach Klasse. Dort also ist das Foto meiner Söhne entstanden. Für mich ist dieses Foto nicht nur ein Foto meiner Söhne, sondern zeigt auch den Zusammenhalt der beiden. Deshalb wollte ich es unbedingt "verewigen". Ich hatte noch diesen blauen Fotorahmen, der sich perfekt dazu eignete. Den "Together-Header" habe ich mit dem GIMP erstellt. Die Schrift ist von dafonts.com, die Brushes (Labels&Tickets) von deviantart.com. Papiere sind von K&Company. Ich habe mich auch hier am Sticken versucht, da es ja sonst kein Ribbon oder Ähnliches auf dem Bild gibt. Und nun... habe ich die beiden immer hier auf meinem Schreibtisch bei mir :) Ich wünsche Euch allen einen wunderschönen Sonntag!

There is a lake here in Ibbenbueren called "Aasee" (Lake Aa). It is quite... small, maybe medium-sized (I think one circuit around it is aprox. 2.5 km) But: it has a "beach"! I think, nearly every city having water has a "beach". It became really in here in Germany. We had great weather during the Pentecost holidays. One day, we were off for a picknick and on Monday I walked to that beach at the Lake Aa together with 2 of my sons. This has, however, one huge disadvantage: you will find there deck chairs and a sofa. And once sitting on the sofa, you`ll hardly find anything making you leave. We were there for aprox. 3 hrs and what can I say... it was like being out for vacation! Palms, sand... and the water nearby. Really great! So... there we shot this foto showing my sons. For me, it isn't just a foto of them, but also showing their solidarity. That's why it was so important for me to have it as "hardware" ;-) I still had this foto frame, which perfectly fits this project. I created the "together-header" using the GIMP. The font is from dafonts.com and the brushes are from deviantart.com Papers: K&Company. And this is another project where I tried to make some stitching on the paper, as there is no kind of ribbon on the LO. The "journalling" says: "Pentecoast 2009" (next to the foto), "3hrs vacation at Aasee-Beach" (at the bottom) And now... I have them both here on my desk, always near myself :) Wishing you a wonderful Sunday!

Caardvarks challenge: Zitatebox / quotation box

Trotz Hochzeitstag wollte ich doch noch schnell meinen Beitrag zur aktuellen Caardvarks Challenge hochladen. Die Challenge ist ein 3D Projekt (altered items, Schachteln, Bücher usw.) Das trifft sich sehr gut. Wenn man mit dem Kartenbasteln/ Scrapbooking anfängt, häufen sich auch sehr schnell Zitate, Sprüche, Titel an, die man irgendwo aufschnappt und irgendwann mal benutzen will. Inzwischen habe ich auch einige Stempel mit schönen Sprüchen darauf. Deshalb habe ich mir letzte Woche diese Zitatebox gebastelt. Und die passt ja zur Challenge, denke ich?

Despite of having our 11th Anniversary today, I wanted to upload my contribution to the present Caardvarks Challenge. The challenge is to craft a 3D-projet (altered items, boxes, books etc.). That`s pretty perfect as I've just finalized my quotation box. When you start making cards or to scrapbook, you will soon have a pile of quotations and titles. And I also have some stamps with quotations/ sentiments. So I had to have a box... and that fits perfectly with the challenge, doesn't it?

Ich schreibe meine Sprüche/ Zitate auf A7-Karteikarten. Deshalb hat die Box genau diese Maße. Ich wollte unbedingt eine höhere Rück- als Vorderwand haben und habe im Internet nicht so schnell die Vorlage gefunden, die ich suchte. Deshalb habe ich mir hier meine eigene Vorlage gemacht. Sie ist nicht perfekt. Aber Übung macht den Meister. Wäre irgendwie ja auch blöde, wenn man auf Anhieb alles perfekt hätte. Dann gingen einem irgendwann die Zukunfts-Projekte aus *g*. Naja... an Ideen für zukünftige Verbesserungen haperts bei mir jedenfalls nicht. Die Papiere sind aus dem "Apples&Almonds" Kit von Summer. Nach den Farben richteten sich alle Elemente, die ich nicht aus diesem Kit genutzt habe. Auf der Rückwand seht ihr zum Beispiel einen Lexikon-Text, den ich von Mels Seite habe. Ich habe einige Wörter dunkelrot markiert (visionary, dreams, idea, let the mind run, plan, experience). Dieser Ausschnitt aus einem Lexikon findet sich auch als Ribbon auf der Vorderwand der Box.

I am collecting my sentiments on DIN A7 file cards. Therefore I needed a box for this dimensions. And I wanted to have a back side higher than the front side. I could, however, not find a template for this in the internet and so I made my own template. It`s not perfect, I know. But practice makes perfect. Who wants to have everything perfect right from the beginning? You would not have future project plans *gg* And one thing is sure: I have enough plans for future projects, only with improving my former "works" ;-) Papers are from the "Apples&Almonds" Kit by Summer. And I wanted to have all elements in correspondent colours. On the back side, e.g., you see a text from an encyclopedia I found on Mel's blog. I marked some words in dark red (visionary, dreams, idea, let the mind run, plan, experience). And you can find a part of this text also as a ribbon on the front side of the box.

Die Registerkarten sind aus dunkelbraunem Karton. Auf den Karten finden sich zum einen Elemente aus Summer Driggs Papieren. Zum Anderen habe ich einige Punches aufgesetzt. Die Tabs habe ich aufgestickt. Hurra... das erste Mal, dass ich auf Papier gestickt habe. Ich habe die Befürchtung, dass das süchtig macht ;-) Folgende Tabs/ Themen habe ich in meiner Zitatebox (die bestimmt noch ergänzt werden!): Kinder, Familie, Liebe, Freunde, Motivation, Alter, Glück, Gesundheit, Jahreszeiten. Ja... und jetzt geht's ans vervollständigen: Muss nämlich noch meine Sprüche/ Zitate aus einer Kladde auf die einzelnen Karteikarten übertragen.

The register is made from dark brown cardboard. And on this cardboard you will find some cut-out elements from Summer Drigg's papers. I also glued some punched elements onto the register cards. I stitched the tabs onto the cardboard. Hurray... first time stitching onto paper! I fear, however, that this is kind of addictive :) The following tabs are in my quotation box (and they will definitely be extended....): children, family, love, friends, motivation, age, luck/happiness, health, seasons. And now.... I have to complete it: that is to say, I have to write my quotations and sentiments out of an old notebook onto the file cards.
