Tea or Coffee? --> Tea today

Ich bin die totale Kaffee-Tante: ohne Kaffee am Morgen ist der Tag direkt wieder vorbei. Tee trinke ich überwiegend im Winter - abends, wenn es draußen eisig kalt ist. In den 80ern galt es eine Zeit lang als echt cool, eine Teestunde zu haben: jeder hatte sein Tee-Set; mit Bechern und nicht mit Tassen! Und dann musste man natürlich alle möglichen Teedosen haben. Hatte ich auch. Trotzdem bin ich bei Kaffee gelandet. Meine Freundin ist bei Tee geblieben. Auch kein Problem, ich trinke ja auch manchmal Tee. Und weil wir uns so lange nicht mehr gesehen haben, habe ich ihr diese Einladung gebastelt:

I am totally coffee-addicted: if I don't get my cup of coffee in the morning, the day is instantly at it's end. I usually drink tea in winter only - in the evenings, when it's cold outside. Back in the 80s it was cool to have a tea-hour: everybody had a tea-set; with small beakers, not with cups! And you had to have all sorts of tea-boxes. So did I. I nonetheless landed with coffee, not with tea. One of my friends stayed with tea. No problem at all, sometimes I can drink tea, you know? And as we did not see each others for a really long time, I made her this invitation:

Embossing Resist

Auf dieser Karte habe ich eine neue Technik ausprobiert. Dutzende von euch kennen sie mit Sicherheit schon. Ich kannte sie vorher auch, habe sie aber noch nie angewandt. Den blauen Papierstreifen habe ich mit Embossing Resist gemacht: erst das Motiv in weiß auf weißem CS gestempelt, dann mit klarem Embossingpulver embossed und zum Schluß mit Distress Ink über den Streifen gewischt, so dass nur das Papier eingefärbt wurde. Das embosste Motiv bleibt weiß. Falls es doch noch jemanden gibt, der die Technik nicht kennt (ich bin in solchen Dingen einfach nicht die schnellste ;) ): Hierbei Splitcoaststampers gibt es ein ausführliches Tutorial mit einem Galerie-Link für viele, viele schöne Beispiele. Es ist Quasselzeit: passt zu 150%: wir können teilweise 2 Stunden telefonieren und uns trotzdem hinterher noch stundenlang bei einer Tasse Tee ausquatschen. Und nach so langer Zeit haben wir uns eine Menge zu erzählen.

I tried a new technique on this card. Most of you will know this, of course. I also knew it, but haven't used it up to now. The blue paperstripe has been made with embossing resist: first I stamped onto white CS, embossed with clear embossing powder and finally added distress ink to the paperstripe, so that only the paper is being coloured, not the embossed part. If you should not know this technique (I am really slow in such things ;) ): hereis a detailed tutorial on the Splitcoaststampers' website with a link to a galery with loads of really beautiful sample-cards. "It's time to chat": that's true to 150%: we can talk on the phone for 2 hours, and nonetheless chat for hours drinking a cup of tea.

down at the left bottom of the card is the word "Einladung", which means invitation
and at the right top you can read "Es ist Quasselzeit!" - "It's time to chat!"

Daily Challenges: Crafty Ribbons

Ohje, irgendwie komme ich mit Blogger nicht so richtig klar oder werde blind: dieser Post sollte schon längst veröffentlicht sein, ist aber irgendwie stecken geblieben. Deshalb heute: Bei Inspirations Blog von Crafty Ribbonslaufen bis zum 03.06. tägliche Events: zum Einen kann man täglich einen Preis gewinnen, zum Anderen gibt es aber tonnenweise Inspiration vom DT: viele unterschiedliche Karten und Techniken, die man sich ansehen kann. Ab und an findet man auch ein Tutorial dabei. Die Preise werden von verschiedenen britischen Shop-Anbietern gesponsort. Heute ist Tag 10, man kann sich aber auch rückwirkend eintragen. Vielleicht hilft mein verspäteter Blog-Post also doch noch ;) Und: Crafty Ribbons hat auch ein Blog, auf dem neben Tutorials auch Challenges angeboten werden.

Meine Lieblingsfarben / My favourite colors

Meine Kreativität ist ganz schön eingerostet. Mir hilft es, wenn ich mich nach Challenges umsehe, weil ich dort immer viele Ideen finde. Deshalb ist diese Karte für die Challenge "Neuester Stempel" (Kleeblatt) bei Stempelträume. An dieser Karte habe ich fast 5 Tage gearbeitet, einfach, weil ich keine Ideen hatte. Nun ist letztendlich das entstanden und ich mag die Karte jetzt auch:

My creativity has suffered in the past months. It helps looking for challenges, as I find loads of inspiration there. That's why this card is for the Stempelträume-Challenge "Newest Stamp" This card took me 5 days, simply due to the fact that I had no ideas. Finally I created this and in the meantime, I like this card:

Grün, Türkis und Hellblau: meine Lieblingsfarben! Der Ostereier-Hintergrund ist mit Aquarellfarben coloriert (Aquarellstifte Albrecht Dürer von Faber-Castell und Farben von Schmincke) und ich habe ihn mit Stickles umrandet. Diese Karte soll auch eine Geburtstagskarte sein, deshalb habe ich die 4 Kleeblätter unten dazugefügt. Gestempelt, embossed und mit Aquarellfarben coloriert. Und weil irgendetwas fehlte, habe ich zum Schluß einen kleinen Osterhasen aus einem Motivpapier ausgeschnitten. Ist zwar weder grün, türkis noch hellblau - passt aber zum Thema :)

Green, turquoise and light-blue: mein favourite colours! I coloured the easter-eggs-background with watercolours (pencils Albrecht Dürer by Faber-Castell and colours by Schmincke) and added some stickles. This card is supposed to be also a birthday-card, that's why I added the 4 shamrocks at the bottom of the card. Stamped, heat-embossed and coloured with watercolours. Something was missing on this card - in my opinion - so I added a tiny easter-rabitt cut from easter-crafting-paper. It's neither green, turquoise nor light-blue - but matches the topic :)

ScrapArtZine + Update :)

Erst das eine, dann das andere :) Den Samstag morgen nutze ich eigentlich immer (wenn ich nicht babysitte :) ) dazu, im Netz rumzusurfen. Und was entdecke ich heute? Das neue Blog der ScrapArtZine. Die Zeitschrift kenne ich natürlich und habe einige Ausgaben hier vor mir liegen. Anlässlich dieses Blogs gibt es nun ein Gewinnspiel, auf das ich euch hiermit aufmerksam machen möchte. Ok, first the one thing, than the other one! I am usually surfing through the internet on Saturday mornings (when I am not babysitting :) ). Today I found the new blog from ScrapArtZine , a German Scrapbooking Magazine. I know this magazine - of course - and have several editions here in front of me. On the occasion of that new blog, there is a competition I'd like to draw your attention to. If you want to participate, you have to be quick, however: the competition will close on the 29th of January!

Ich weiß, ihr habt längere Zeit nichts von mir gelesen: ich hatte keine funktionierende Digi-Cam (meine Scan-Ergebnisse waren grauenhaft!) dafür hatte ich aber einen ziemlich hartnäckigen Trojaner auf dem PC *grrr* Irgendwie rennt die Zeit... und nun ist es schon wieder 2012, dabei habe ich nicht mal richtig 2011 mitbekommen! Es gibt auch Neuigkeiten in der Familie: wir werden wieder Großeltern! Unsere kleine Enkeltochter bleibt kein Einzelkind - im Gegenteil: sie bekommt sogar 2 Geschwister! Zwillinge - was für eine Neuigkeit! Wir freuen uns riesig über den Nachwuchs, der im Sommer erwartet wird :) Und... wir werden umziehen: wir sind auf der Suche nach einer neuen Wohnung und haben bereits angefangen, dieses und jenes einzupacken. Da dieser Umzug mehr oder weniger "nebenbei" laufen muss, wird das nochmal ein Kraftakt in den nächsten Monaten. Aber dafür habe ich mir vorgenommen, mir ein wenig mehr Freiraum für mich zu schaffen. Schade, dass ich euch meine Weihnachts-Basteleien nicht zeigen konnte, denn 2011 war ich wirklich fleissig. Naja, dafür geht es bald weiter, ich bin nämlich zur Zeit dabei, eine Karte zu machen. Und für die neue Wohnung habe ich schon mega viele Ideen :)

you haven't read anything about me in the last months: I had no proper camera (and my scan results were really, really ugly :) ), but instead of that a really persistent virus on the computer. Time flies: now it's 2012 and I don't even know, where 2011 went. And there are family-news: we will become grandparents again! Our little gran-daughter won't be our daughter's only child - no, not at all, as she is going to have 2 siblings! Twins - what news is that?! We are looking forward to the babies, who are expected to come in summer :) And... we will move: we are looking for a bigger home and have already begun to pack this and that. This movement has to take place "along the way", so the upcoming months will be a show of strength, I fear. But I decided to take a bit more time for me. I really regret that I was not able to show you my Christmas crafts, as I really made a lot in 2011. But I can show you new things in the next days: I am working on a card atm and have plenty of ideas for our new home :)

Knallige Farben / Bright colours

Also oft nutze ich knallige Farben nicht. Deshalb war die 2. Challenge von Inkspire_me eine echte Challenge für mich. Und nun bin ich mir nicht mal sicher, ob ich die Farben überhaupt richtig getroffen habe. Aber... das könnt ihr besser beurteilen. Hier also meine Karte:

ok, I do not often use bright colours on my cards. Hence, the 2nd Inkspire_me Challenge was literally that: a challenge for me. And finally I am not even sure whether I used the correct colours for this challenge. I think, however, that you`re able to judge that better than me. Ok, here it comes, my card:

Eigentlich war sie ja schon am Sonntag fertig. Eigentlich bedeutet: ich war überhaupt nicht zufrieden. Die Bestandteile gefallen mir schon, auch wenn mein Sohn den Streifen mit den Bäumen nicht mag. Aber ich habe bis heute hin und her geschoben und keine richtige Anordnung für den Tag gefunden. *seufz* Irgendwann muss man aber mal aufhören; und das mache ich jetzt.

I actually finalized this card on Sunday. Actually means: I was not satisfied at all. I liked the single parts, even though my son doesn`t like the stripe with the trees at all. But up to today I moved everything from here to there and did not find a proper solution for the tag. *sigh* But... you have to stop at one point; and I`ll do that right now.

Die blauen Bäume und die Striche hinter dem Vogelhaus sind wieder mit Glitter... Die Pailletten habe ich in letzter Minute aufgenäht, weil sonst etwas gefehlt hätte. Der Tag greift auch die Bäume auf dem Papierstreifen auf: ich habe 2 ausgeschnitten und mit auf den Tag gesetzt. Schon ein bissi besser als die letzte Karte (finde ich) und ich merke, dass ich wieder etwas kreativer werde und nicht so lange vor meinem Bastel-Berg sitze wie vorher, nur um Löcher in die Luft zu starren.

The blue trees and the lines on the birdhouse-tag are again made with glitter. I sew the pailletes onto the card in the last minute, because otherwise there would have been too much empty space on the card. The tag also repeats the trees from the paperstrip: I cut out 2 of them and adhered them to the tag. It´s a bit better than my last card (in my opinion) and I realize, that I`m getting more creative. I don`t spend hours sitting in front of my stash just staring into space.

In-{K}Spire_me: neuer/ new Challenge Blog

Vor Kurzem wurde ein neuer Challenge-Blog aufgemacht: IN-{K}-SPIRE_me. Und da ich ja immer auf der Suche nach schönen Challenges bin, habe auch ich versucht, an der 1. Challenge teilzunehmen. Ergebnis: Versuch gescheitert. Ich war nämlich zu lahm. Seit meiner längeren Pause brauche ich echt lang, eine Karte fertig zu bekommen. Die Farbkombi für diese Karte war vorgegeben: (da ich nicht sicher bin, ob ich das Bild selbst veröffentlichen darf, hier der Link dazu) Das Grün gehört zu meiner künstlerischen Freiheit :) Ich hoffe, dass ich ansonsten die Kombi auch wohl getroffen habe. Den Digistamp habe ich mit Aquarell-Stiften coloriert und dann die einzelnen Teile mit Pappe hinterlegt, damit ein 3D-Effekt entsteht. Die Abstandspads sind mir teilweise zu groß oder aber auch zu dick dafür. Mit ein wenig Pappe erzielt man auch einen schönen Effekt. Die Scallops unten habe ich mit einem Glitzer-Stift umrandet. Leider sieht man das auf dem Foto nicht so gut. Und den Schmetterling habe ich auch noch ein wenig "beglittert". Diese Karte kommt in meinen Vorrat. Immer, wenn ich kurzfristig eine Karte brauche, habe ich natürlich keine... und da ich ja momentan eher zur Schnecken-Fraktion zähle, mache ich mir halt einen Vorrat :) So, muss mich mal mit der nächsten Challenge auf Inkspire_me befassen, sonst wird das auch wieder nichts. There is a new Challenge Blog out there in Blogger`s world: IN-{K}-SPIRE_me. And as I am always looking out for good challenge-blogs, I tried to take part into the first of their challenges. Result: Failed! I was... too lame! Now, after my long break, I really need loooads of time to finish a card. There was a colour combo fixed for this challenge: As I am not sure whether it is allowed to publish the correspondent photo, I`ll give you the link for that combo here. The green is part of my artistic license :) I hope that the rest fits the given colours. I coloured the digistamp with watercolours and adhered tiny pieces of cardboard on the backside in order to get something like an 3D-effect. The regular foampads sometimes are too thick, respectively too big and you can achieve nearly the same effect with a bit of cardboard. I bordered the scallops at the bottom with a glitter-pen. Unfortunately you cannot see that glitter on the photo. And.. I also glittered the butterfly a bit. The card was made for my stash. Anytime I need a card - I don`t have a finished one. And as I presently belong to the snail-crafters... I am making a stash :) Ok, I`ll have to study the next Inkspire_me Challenge now, otherwise I`ll fail again :) Wishing all of you a great weekend, Hugs Gabriele

Also es braucht schon Zeit, wenn man nach längerer Abstinenz wieder kreativ sein möchte. Ich habe euch ja schon hier von der Wand berichtet, an die ich ganz viele kleinere Bilder hängen möchte. Bis jetzt ist von ganz viele noch nicht so die Rede, aber ich bin auf einem guten Weg *gg*. Deshalb habe ich wieder einen kleinen Keilrahmen gemacht. Dieses Mal mit dem Thema "Enjoy the simple things" Zuerst habe ich den Keilrahmen mit Acrylfarben (blau, weiß und gelber Ocker wurden verwischt) grundiert. Das sah dann so aus:

Well, it takes indeed some time to get creative again after being abstinent for such a long period of time. Here I told you about the wall I want to decorate with tons of small pictures/ works. Ok, up to now you cannot speak of "tons of pictures", but I am on a good way *gg* Therefore I made again one of those small canvasses. The topic this time "Enjoy the simple things". First, I used acrylics for the background. I blended blue, white and yellow ochre. Afterwards it looked like this:

Der Rest war relativ einfach, hat aber am längsten gedauert. Wo soll was hin?

Der Stempel oben rechts ist mir nicht ganz so gut gelungen: es handelt sich um eine "halbe Uhr" von Rayher. Ich habe das erste Mal mit Acrylfarben direkt auf den Keilrahmen gestempelt und der Stempel kam nicht ganz vollständig heraus. Aber das fällt unter künstlerische Freiheit ;) Leider weiß ich nicht mehr, woher der Stempel links kam... deshalb kann ich dazu keine genaueren Angaben machen. Aber er gibt schon gut wieder, was ich eigentlich sagen will: "enjoy the simple things". Rechts um die Uhr herum steht der Text "time flies too fast - enjoy every single moment". Es soll ja eine Verbindung zu dem Vogel und dem Ast geben ;) Man sieht es vielleicht nicht richtig, aber die Swirls unter dem linken Stempelabdruck habe ich ein wenig "beglittert". Hier "in echt" hat das einen schönen Effekt.

The stamp on the right did not have the result I wanted it to have: it is a "half clock" by Rayher. It was the first time that I stamped directly onto the canvas with acrylics. Hence, some parts of the stamp do not show on the canvas. But that`s what we call "artistic freedom", isn`t it? ;) I unfortunately don`t remember the source of the stamp on the left side. That`s why I cannot give further details on it. But it expresses quite well what I want to say with this canvas: "Enjoy the simple things!" I completed that with the letters following the clock's silhouette: "time flies too fast - enjoy every single moment". Finally I wanted to have a connection to the bird and the branch ;) You maybe don`t see it on the photo, but I glittered the swirl on the left side a bit. Here, "in real life" it looks really great.

Viel Platz ist auf diesem Tag nicht. Die Buchstaben stammen übrigens aus einem Stempelset, das ich letztes Jahr auf einem Flohmarkt gekauft habe. Stempelschule für Kinder steht auf der Packung und die Verkäuferin hat der Kleinen, die in Zukunft damit spielen wird, viel Spass gewünscht. Sollten wir ihr ausrichten. Ok... hab ich getan und ja: ich habe viel Spaß damit *ggg* Gerade habe ich gesehen, dass Simon says stamp diese Woche eine Challenge hat, die genau zu meinem Keilrahmen passt: Bingo! Momentan habe ich keinen Lieblings-Challenge-Blog, weil caardvarks leider aufgehört hat... das ist sehr schade, denn es war der einzige Blog, auf dem ich einigermaßen regelmäßig an den Challenges teilgenommen habe. Nun bin ich auf der Suche nach einem neuen schönen Challenge Blog, denn durch die Challenges bekommt man doch immer gute Denkanstöße, was man als nächstes machen soll. Ich wünsche euch einen wundervollen Sonntag... und: Enjoy the simple things! :)

There is not too much space on this tag and I did not want to overload it. The letters are from a stamp-set I bought on a fleamarket last year (have I told you that I love fleamarkets?) "Stamping school for children" is written on the box and the woman who sold it wanted me to give her wishes for a "happy playing" with it to that child who will be using it in future. Ok... I told it to myself and yes: I have loads of fun with it *ggg* I just saw that Simon says stamp has a challenge this week which perfectly matches to my canvas: Bingo! I do not have a favourite challenge blog at the moment. Unfortunately caardvarks stopped their blog; very sad :( So I am looking for a new one. Leider weiß ich nicht mehr, woher ich das Bild von der Uhr habe: ich hatte es hier in meinem Bilder-Ordner und habe wohl vergessen, mir die Herkunft zu notieren. Den Spruch finde ich absolut genial. Und je älter man wird, desto beruhigender ist er ;) Ich liebe das Papier von 7gypsies und auf dieser Karte habe ich es das erste Mal benutzt. Nun hoffe ich nur noch, dass sie meiner Schwester gefällt!

Unfortunately I forgot the source of the clock`s picture. I had it here in my stash of images and obviously did not note down where I have it from. I absolutely like the sentiment and the older you grow, the more it gives you a really relaxed feeling ;) I love these papers from 7gypsies and this is my first card where I used it. I hope my sister will like this card...

Happy Birthday Irishteddy!

Wie heißt es doch so schön? Lila - der letzte Versuch. Ich glaube, zur Zeit ist lila ganz schön in und als ich zuerst gelesen habe: "Farbkombi lila grün", dachte ich: nein, das wird nicht dein Ding. Aber nachdem ich die Beispielkarten bei Iris gesehen habe, hab ich mich umentschieden. Hier ist also mein (nein, nicht der letzte) erster Versuch mit Lila... und gleichzeitig meine erste Osterkarte 2010.

The saying is: Purple - the last try. I think, purple is quite in at the moment and when I first read: "Colour combo purple - green", I thought: no, that`s really not yours. But after seeing all the design team`s cards on Iris' blog I decided to give it a try. Here it is (no, not my last...) my first try with purple... and at the same time my first easter card 2010.

Blumen Hintergrund - Window's background

Hier ist noch einmal ein Detail des Blumen-Hintergrundes. Man kann nämlich auf dem Foto schlecht erkennen, wie ich den gemacht habe. Hier bei Mel findet man ein Freebie mit einem Text, auf den ein paar Blüten gedoodelt sind. Diesen Text habe ich mit grünen Pastellkreiden coloriert, Transparentpapier darüber gesetzt und aus einem 2. Ausdruck einige Blüten ausgeschnitten, die ich mit meinen Aquarellstiften lila coloriert habe. In die Mitte habe ich ein wenig Glitzer gesetzt. Vielleicht könnt ihr es auf dem nächsten Bild ein wenig besser sehen.

Here is a detail from the window's background, as you can't see that too well on the card`s foto. Here on Mel`s blog is a freebie with a text and doodle-flowers on it. I coloured this image with green pastels and put it behind a scrap of vellum. I coloured a few blossoms of another print-out in purple, glittered the center a bit and cut them out. You can see that better here on this foto (hopefully).

Was bleibt mir noch zu sagen? Richtig, das Wichtigste: Happy Birthday Irishteddy! Aus diesem Grund habe ich nämlich diese Karte gemacht: Iris feiert ihren ersten Shop-Geburtstag und startet aus diesem Grund einige Challenges in den nächsten Wochen. Alles Liebe, Gabriele

Baby-Enkel / baby grandchild - HeroArts und / and Papertake Weekly

Wie ihr ja wisst, bin ich gerade dabei, ein paar Muster-Karten für die Geburtsanzeigen zu machen. Und ich hatte Euch ja hier auch schon das Digi-Kit von HeroArts gezeigt. Ich stöbere gerade durch meine Lieblings-Blogs und sehe zufällig, dass das Thema bei Papertake Weekly PINK ist, na wenn das kein Zufall ist, denn hier auf meinem Schreibtisch sieht man nix anderes als pink... ich habe zur Zeit ca. 20 pinke Karten hier liegen, von denen ich euch 2 zeigen möchte, die ich mit dem Kit gemacht habe.

As most of you`ll know, I am making some samples for our granddaughter`s birth announcement at the moment. And I've already shown you HeroArt's DigiKit "Special Delivery" here I am surfing through my favourite blogs at the moment and suddenly saw at Papertake Weekly that they are looking for pink cards at the moment... Well, I could show you aprox. 20 of them as this is the colour which dominates my desk atm *gg*

Klapperstorch / Stork

Zuerst der Klapperstorch. Als Background für den Tag habe ich einen Spruch genommen: "Kommt irgendwo ein Kind zur Welt, ein Engel sich daneben stellt. Und Tag für Tag und Nacht für Nacht ein Leben lang es nun bewacht" Die Schrift unten "Sina ist da" habe ich übrigens mit einem super Tool erzeugt, das ihr hier finden könnt. Ich habe dem Kind versehentlich die Haare abgeschnitten *gg*, das werde ich noch ändern...

Let`s start with the stork. The background of the tag shows a short poem; I won`t be able to translate it really "poetical", but I`ll try to transfer the sense of it... "Whenever a child enters the world somewhere, an angel will be set at it's side. And will guard it day by day and night by night from now on for the rest of it's life" The wording at the bottom says "Sina is there" and I made it with a great took I found on this website. Errr, by accident I cut the hair off the baby *gg* I`ll change that later on...

Dieses Schnuller-Alpha fand ich ja total süß *gg*. Ich hatte die einzelnen Buchstaben erst als kleine Rechtecke, die ich mit Abstandshaltern auf die Karte geklebt hatte. Aber ich fand dann, dass die Buchstaben ausgeschnitten und auf ein Band gezogen besser aussehen. Bleibt nur zu hoffen, dass die beiden sich nicht "Charlotte-Maximiliane" oder ähnlich aussuchen. Ich denke mit Grausen daran, 30 mal "Charlotte-Maximiliane" Buchstaben-Schnuller auszuschneiden ;) Der Papierstreifen in der Mitte stammt übrigens von einem Geschenkpapier. Ich bin inzwischen immer mal auf der Suche nach schönen Geschenkpapieren, denn ich finde, dass man sie teilweise genauso gut nutzen kann wie Scrapbooking-Papiere. Das war`s für heute... die restlichen Karten werde ich nach dem Wochenende zeigen.

I LOVE this cute pacifier-alpha *gg*. First, I adhered each single letter onto cardstock pieces and made small rectangles from them, which I glued with a few pads onto the card. But then I thought they look much better being cut out and put onto a ribbon. I only hope that our daughter and her husband won't choose a name like "Charlotte-Maximiliane" or something similar *gg*. I cannot imagine what it means to cut out 30 "Charlotte-Maximiliane" pacifier-letters ;) Oh and the paper strip in the middle of the card comes from a wrapping paper. Sometimes those wrapping papers are as beautiful as scrapbooking-papers (in my opinion...) Ok, that`s it for today. Our daughter will choose one of my samples over the weekend, so I can show you the rest on Monday :)

Yeah, ich hab wieder was gewonnen...! Im Dezember konnte man bei Caardvarks je ein Digital Kit von Hero Arts gewinnen. Und... ich war dabei! Und da ich die Ehre habe, die Geburtsankündigungen für unsere Enkeltochter zu machen, MUSSTE ich mir natürlich das "Special Delivery" Kit aussuchen ;) Hier seht ihr die Stempel, die in diesem Kit enthalten sind und mit denen ich grade rumspiele.

Cardvaarks: Runde Karte / round card - Gate-fold

Ich habe ja nun längere Zeit mit den Challenges ausgesetzt. Aus Zeitgründen... Aber ich habe mir überlegt, jetzt, wo die Weihnachtszeit ansteht und ich eh mehr Karten mache als sonst, werde ich mal ein paar Challenge Blogs ausprobieren. Mal ehrlich: es gibt gute und weniger gute, meint ihr nicht auch? Cardvaarks jedenfalls gehört zu den sehr guten Challenge-Blogs: man lernt eine Menge netter Leute kennen und bekommt viele liebe Kommentare zu seinen "Werken". Bei Cardvaarks habe ich ja auch schon öfter mit gemacht. Dieses Mal war es die Aufgabe, eine runde Karte mit "pizazz" zu erstellen. Ok, ich habe überhaupt keinen Schimmer, was Pizazz sein könnten *gg*, aber egal: wenn die Karten nicht passen, habe ich halt Pech, aber dafür jede Menge Spass beim Basteln. Ich hatte auf Anhieb 2 Ideen dazu. Hier ist meine erste: eine Gate-fold Karte.

Due to a lack of time, I paused participating in challenges for a longer time now. But now, with Christmas and Advent and me making more cards anyway, I want to try out several (for me) new challenge blogs. If we are honest: there are really great ones out there, but also not so good ones, don't you think so? Cardvaarks is, in any case, one of the best challenge blogs: you get to know to loads of kind people and get lots of really nice comments on your "works". And I`ve participated in a few Cardvaarks challenges in the last months. The topic now is to make a round card with pizazz. Well, I have no idea about "pizazz". But ok, if my card does not meet the topic, I'm unlucky, but had lots of fun in making the card. Reading the topic, I immediately had 2 ideas. Here is the first one: a gate-fold card.

Ich mag ja die Kombination Schwarz/ weiß/ türkis oder aqua sehr gerne. Sieht immer gut aus. Man muss halt aufpassen, dass es nicht in Richtung Trauerkarte geht. Aber ich glaube, das ist bei dieser Karte nicht der Fall, oder? Nun muss ich aber mal so langsam auch in Richtung Weihnachtskarten schielen. Ich habe noch nicht eine einzige fertig. Mal sehen, vielleicht schaffe ich es ja auch noch rechtzeitig, meine 2. Idee umzusetzen.

I love the combo black/white/ turquoise or aqua. It always looks great. You have to take care, however, that the card does not look too much like a condolence card. But I think it is not the case here, isn`t it? Now I really have to make a few christmas card. Up to now I made no single one. Maybe I manage to realize my 2nd idea on a round card... let's see.

Leider habe ich diesen Blog Hop anlässlich des World Cardmaking Days zu spät entdeckt. Da der Einsendeschluss morgen (ähm heute) früh um 6:00 Uhr ist, kann ich leider nur an einer challenge teilnehmen. Umso mehr freue ich mich darauf, morgen früh bei einer Tasse Kaffee alle Werke bestaunen zu dürfen! Credits kann ich leider auch erst morgen früh vergeben (für das Patterned Paper), weil mein PC gerade streikt. Vielleicht ist es ihm zu spät? Ich werde sie jedenfalls morgen sofort nachreichen! Den Schmetterling rechts habe ich außen ein wenig mit Glitter versehen. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob Ihr es auf dem Foto erkennen könnt? Ich wünsche Euch allen noch einen schönen Rest des WCMD! Unfortunately I found this blog hop on the occasion of the World Card Making Day too late. As deadline for all cards is tomorrow (uuups, today) at 6 in the morning, I can participate only in one challenge of the hop. But I am really looking forward to seeing all the other works tomorrow in the morning having a cup of coffee... Credits (for the PP) will be posted in the morning, as my computer refuses to work. I think, it's too late for him... But I will do that first thing in the morning! I made some glitter onto the shape of the butterly. I am not sure, whether you can see that on the foto? Dreieck auf Karte / Card with triangle

Bei creadoo gab es mal wieder einen Kartenwettbewerb, an dem ich teilgenommen habe. Dieses Mal ging es darum, nach diesem Sketch von Arti zu arbeiten:

There was another cards contest on creadoo which I attended. This time we had to make a card using the following sketch from Arti:

Danke noch einmal an Arti, dass ich den Sketch hier auch veröffentlichen darf :) Ich liebe hellblau/ Aqua-Töne und für mich passen diese Farbtöne am besten mit schwarz und silber zusammen. (Aber auch mit einem hellen rot total klasse). Hier habe ich mich jedenfalls für hellblau, schwarz und silber entschieden. Ein Dreieck sieht man nicht so oft auf Karten-Sketches. Damit hatte ich auch so mein Problem... ich finde Dreiecke auf Karten toll. Aber anfangs wollte ich diesem Dreieck eine "Bedeutung" geben und erst eine Weihnachtskarte basteln. Das Dreieck wäre dann der Weihnachtsbaum gewesen. Aber da wir ja nun mal erst August hatten, habe ich mich dann doch für diese Version entschieden:

I love the light blue/ aqua colours and imho these colours perfectly match with black and silver. (A light red is also a perfect partner...). Here I decided to use the light blue-black-silver combo. You don't see triangles on cards too often, do you? And that was my problem... I really like triangles on cards. But when I first saw the sketch, I wanted to give a "meaning" to the triangle and make a christmas card. The triangle would have been the christmas tree. But as it was August and not November or December, I decided to make this card:

Die Abstimmung ist abgeschlossen, deshalb darf ich meine Karte jetzt veröffentlichen. Der hellblaue Hintergrund ist eigentlich ein Vlies, der mit Goldfäden durchwoben war. Die Fäden waren aber einerseits zu dick und andererseits... golden *gg*. Deshalb habe ich sie in mühevoller Kleinarbeit herausgefriemelt. Wäre auch ein Beitrag zum Thema "Geduld" weiter unten auf meinem Blog gewesen *gg*. Ich hatte Angst, das Vlies zu beschädigen... aber es hat ja dann doch geklappt ;) Das Kleid habe ich hier gefunden...

Votings are done now; so I am allowed to publish it. The light blue background is a thin fabric. There are usually golden strings in it. As they did not match to my wishes, I puzzled them out... that was really an act of real real patience *gg*. The fabric is so thin that I feared to damage it. But after all it worked... Caardvarks Challenge: Window card

Bei Caardvarks gibt es eine neue Challenge. Das Thema dieses Mal ist es, eine Karte mit einer Öffnung zu machen. Aber erst einmal muss ich noch etwas zur letzten Caardvarks Challenge sagen: nämlich, wie sehr ich mich über die vielen lieben Kommentare auf meinem Blog und über die neuen Leute gefreut habe, die ich durch diese Challenge kennen gelernt habe! Ich hätte niemals mit soviel Resonanz, aber auch Inspiration durch die anderen Challenge-Beiträge gerechnet! Danke, Caardvarks! Nun zu meiner Karte: Ich habe mich für ein Kleid entschieden. Ich fand diese Form relativ außergewöhnlich. Man sieht sie nicht so oft. Die Papiere, die ich verwandt habe, sind alle aus meinem Lieblings-Kit von Summertime Driggs. Es heißt "Limeade". Grün ist ja sowieso meine Lieblingsfarbe. Und die Kombination grün / schwarz hat es mir echt angetan. Für mich war zu einem Kleid das Iris-folding einfach perfekt: es spiegelt die Falten in einem Kleid optimal wieder und ich hoffe, dass man das auf den Fotos einigermaßen sehen kann. Ansonsten wollte ich nicht zuviel Schnickischnacki auf die Karte machen, denn ich finde, das Kleid wirkt schon für sich. Aber mal kurz nachgedacht... naaa, was passt denn zu einem Kleid? *denk* Jo... eine Handtasche. Den Rand habe ich mal wieder bestickt. Und die Handtasche hat auch einen Henkel: er besteht aus einem Silberdraht. Leider sieht man ihn auf dem Foto nicht so sehr; in Natura kommt er aber ganz gut rüber. Der "Gürtel" des Kleides besteht aus einem Ribbon, das eigentlich creme-farben ist. Für diese Karte habe ich es mit einem Stempelkissen eingefärbt. Es ist außerdem nur auf der Außenseite der Karte befestigt. Der Tag ist ein wenig bestempelt... wie gesagt: ich wollte nicht zu viel Schnickschnack... und bin nun mal gespannt, wie diese Karte so bei Euch ankommt.

There is a new Caardvarks Challenge. This time you have to make a window card. But first of all, I have to say something important about the last Caardvarks Challenge: this is, how happy I was about these loads of kind comments on my blog and about all the people I got to know within this challenge! I'd never thought about so much feedback, nor all this inspiration I got from all the other challenge shares. Thanks, Caardvarks! Now talking about my card: I decided to use a dress. I found this form to be quite extraordinary. You don`t see it that much. The papers I used are from my favourite kit of Summertime Driggs, which is called "Limeade". Green is my favourite colour anyway. And I'm really taken with the combo green/ black. Iris folding was imho just perfect for a dress: it represents the dresses drapery in an optimal way and I hope, that you can see that on one of the fotos. What else? I did not want to have too much bits and pieces on the card, as I wanted to let the dress appear for itself. But... thinking a bit more... hmmmmm what suits to a dress? *thinking*. Jep... a purse. Again, I stitched the borders with a black thread. And it has, in fact, a handle: it is made from silver wire. Unfortunately you cannot see it on the foto; in RL, however, it looks just fine. The dresses belt is originally a creme-coloured ribbon which I dyed for this card using a green ink pad. And I attached it to the outside of the card only. I stamped the tag a bit with small stamps. As a.m.: not too much of bits and pieces... and now I'm curious about your opinion...

Caardvarks challenge: Zitatebox / quotation box

Trotz Hochzeitstag wollte ich doch noch schnell meinen Beitrag zur aktuellen Caardvarks Challenge hochladen. Die Challenge ist ein 3D Projekt (altered items, Schachteln, Bücher usw.) Das trifft sich sehr gut. Wenn man mit dem Kartenbasteln/ Scrapbooking anfängt, häufen sich auch sehr schnell Zitate, Sprüche, Titel an, die man irgendwo aufschnappt und irgendwann mal benutzen will. Inzwischen habe ich auch einige Stempel mit schönen Sprüchen darauf. Deshalb habe ich mir letzte Woche diese Zitatebox gebastelt. Und die passt ja zur Challenge, denke ich?

Despite of having our 11th Anniversary today, I wanted to upload my contribution to the present Caardvarks Challenge. The challenge is to craft a 3D-projet (altered items, boxes, books etc.). That`s pretty perfect as I've just finalized my quotation box. When you start making cards or to scrapbook, you will soon have a pile of quotations and titles. And I also have some stamps with quotations/ sentiments. So I had to have a box... and that fits perfectly with the challenge, doesn't it?

Ich schreibe meine Sprüche/ Zitate auf A7-Karteikarten. Deshalb hat die Box genau diese Maße. Ich wollte unbedingt eine höhere Rück- als Vorderwand haben und habe im Internet nicht so schnell die Vorlage gefunden, die ich suchte. Deshalb habe ich mir hier meine eigene Vorlage gemacht. Sie ist nicht perfekt. Aber Übung macht den Meister. Wäre irgendwie ja auch blöde, wenn man auf Anhieb alles perfekt hätte. Dann gingen einem irgendwann die Zukunfts-Projekte aus *g*. Naja... an Ideen für zukünftige Verbesserungen haperts bei mir jedenfalls nicht. Die Papiere sind aus dem "Apples&Almonds" Kit von Summer. Nach den Farben richteten sich alle Elemente, die ich nicht aus diesem Kit genutzt habe. Auf der Rückwand seht ihr zum Beispiel einen Lexikon-Text, den ich von Mels Seite habe. Ich habe einige Wörter dunkelrot markiert (visionary, dreams, idea, let the mind run, plan, experience). Dieser Ausschnitt aus einem Lexikon findet sich auch als Ribbon auf der Vorderwand der Box.

I am collecting my sentiments on DIN A7 file cards. Therefore I needed a box for this dimensions. And I wanted to have a back side higher than the front side. I could, however, not find a template for this in the internet and so I made my own template. It`s not perfect, I know. But practice makes perfect. Who wants to have everything perfect right from the beginning? You would not have future project plans *gg* And one thing is sure: I have enough plans for future projects, only with improving my former "works" ;-) Papers are from the "Apples&Almonds" Kit by Summer. And I wanted to have all elements in correspondent colours. On the back side, e.g., you see a text from an encyclopedia I found on Mel's blog. I marked some words in dark red (visionary, dreams, idea, let the mind run, plan, experience). And you can find a part of this text also as a ribbon on the front side of the box.

Die Registerkarten sind aus dunkelbraunem Karton. Auf den Karten finden sich zum einen Elemente aus Summer Driggs Papieren. Zum Anderen habe ich einige Punches aufgesetzt. Die Tabs habe ich aufgestickt. Hurra... das erste Mal, dass ich auf Papier gestickt habe. Ich habe die Befürchtung, dass das süchtig macht ;-) Folgende Tabs/ Themen habe ich in meiner Zitatebox (die bestimmt noch ergänzt werden!): Kinder, Familie, Liebe, Freunde, Motivation, Alter, Glück, Gesundheit, Jahreszeiten. Ja... und jetzt geht's ans vervollständigen: Muss nämlich noch meine Sprüche/ Zitate aus einer Kladde auf die einzelnen Karteikarten übertragen.

The register is made from dark brown cardboard. And on this cardboard you will find some cut-out elements from Summer Drigg's papers. I also glued some punched elements onto the register cards. I stitched the tabs onto the cardboard. Hurray... first time stitching onto paper! I fear, however, that this is kind of addictive :) The following tabs are in my quotation box (and they will definitely be extended....): children, family, love, friends, motivation, age, luck/happiness, health, seasons. And now.... I have to complete it: that is to say, I have to write my quotations and sentiments out of an old notebook onto the file cards.

The Next Level #1

Ich hatte ja schon vor einiger Zeit von dem neuen Challenge Blog "The Next Level" berichtet. Nun fand die erste Challenge statt... und an der wollte ich natürlich unbedingt teilnehmen. Das Thema war: eine Karte mit einer Öffnung und einer Lollipop Blume. Öffnung kannte ich auch vorher schon. Lollipop-Blume nicht. Dafür kenne ich sie jetzt! Eine Anleitung zu dieser Blume findet ihr hier. Es macht Riesen-Spass, kann ich euch sagen! Meine Öffnungen beinhalten einen Muffin (nein, ich hab fast gar nicht an die Kaffeezeit gedacht *g*) und Geburtstagskerzen... Die Papiere sind übrigens von Summertime Driggs. Ich verfolge den Blog dort schon seit einigen Monaten. Er gehört mit zu meinen Favoriten. Ich bin zwar davon überzeugt, dass viele von euch den Blog schon kennen. Falls nicht, solltet ihr das aber schnell nachholen. Es lohnt sich....

Some time ago I have already mentioned the new challenge blog "The Next Level" here on my blog. Now there was the first challenge taking place. And, of course, I did not want to miss participating. The topic was: a card with a cut out and a lollipop flower. Well, I knew cut out. But I didn't know lollipop flower. Now I know! You will find a tutorial for this great flower here. It's really fun making them. My cutouts contain a muffin (cup cake? and no, I did not think of coffee time, when making it *g*) and birthday candles... Papers are from Summertime Driggs. I love her blog and have been reading it for months now. It is one of my favourites. I am convinced that most of you will know this blog. But if not: don`t hesitate reading it: it's really a great one!

The Next Level - neues Blog/ new blog

Beim Surfen durch die Welt der Blogs bin ich vorhin auf diese Seite hier gestoßen. The Next Level ist ein neues Blog, das am 01.06. erst offiziell eröffnet wird. Was mich direkt auf den Favoriten-Button zucken ließ, war der Gedanke dahinter: dass nämlich viele Techniken und Inspirationen für alle vorgestellt werden sollen: vom Anfänger bis zum Fortgeschrittenen. Und was ich außerdem super finde: man kann auch Themen-Wünsche einsenden... das ist doch mal eine tolle Idee! Ich bin also schon sehr gespannt und warte auf den 01.06.

Surfing through the blogger world I recently found this page. The Next Level is a new blog, which will officially start on June, 1st. The idea behind this blog made me click onto the favourites-button immediately: they intend to show lots of techniques and inspiration for both, beginners as well as advanced scrappers. And one thing is really great: you are able to send your wishes for future topics. That's indeed a super idea! Hence, I am really curious waiting for the 1st of June to come!

Haiku-Karte / Haiku-card

Heute zeige ich Euch noch einmal eine Karte, die ich im Rahmen eines Wettbewerbes bei creadoo gemacht habe. Das Thema war: Alles, was fliegt, kriecht... Ich mag Schmetterlinge und habe letztens ein japanisches Haiku von Moritake gelesen: "Ein Blütenblatt, das zurückkehrt an seinen Zweig? Ein Schmetterling!" Dieses Haiku habe ich für meine Karte verwendet, denn ich finde es sehr passend. Eine Freundin hat diese Karte als Danke-Karte erhalten und ich glaube/ hoffe, dass sie sich darüber gefreut hat.

Today another card I made for a challenge at creadoo with the topic "something flying or creeping". I like butterflies (ok, who doesn't??) and recently read a japanese Haiku by Moritake: "The fallen blossom flies back to its branch: A butterfly!" I used this Haiku for my card. You can read "The fallen blossom flies back to its branch" on the front side and opening the card you can read "a butterfly" next to the branch at the bottom. I gave this card to a friend of mine as a Thank you and I think/ hope that she appreciated it.

Wieder Muttertag / Again mothers day

Da habe ich beim Schreiben über Wanaba doch zufällig gemerkt, dass dort die Muttertags-Challenge verlängert wurde. Ein Glück für mich! Bedingung war, dass das Wort Mutter auf dem LO enthalten sein musste. Und das ist bei dem Lesezeichen ja gegeben... deshalb reiche ich es schnell noch ein. Meine Mutter ist leider schon vor mehr als 20 Jahren gestorben. Aber eine Freundin hatte mich dieses Jahr gebeten, ein Lesezeichen für sie zu machen. Sie hat ihrer Mutter (na was??) ein Buch zum Muttertag geschenkt und wollte eine kleine Beigabe dazu. So ist dieses Lesezeichen entstanden.

Writing the post about Wanaba this morning, I suddenly recognized that they corrected the deadline for the mothers day challenge. I was lucky!! There had to be the word "mother" in any language on the LO. And that is given on the bookmark... therefore I just sent it to Wanaba's blog. My mother died more than 20 yrs ago. But a friend of mine asked me this year to make a bookmark for her. She gave her mother a (guess what...??) book for mothers day and wanted to have something small additionally. That`s why this bookmark had been created.

Links seht Ihr die Hülle für das Lesezeichen. Da das Papier schon gemustert ist, wollte ich nicht so viel Schnickschnack (hmmm, wie übersetz ich das gleich??) mit drauf setzen.
