100. Post: Badetasche - Bathing tote bag

Uuh, mein 100. Post! Wenn man sieht, wie lange es diesen Blog schon gibt, ist das eine sub-optimale Leistung, aber immerhin: 100 Posts und ich hoffe, es werden mehr. Nachdem ich nun fast 3 Monate lang nicht sitzen konnte, war ich froh, als ich wieder stricken und an der Nähmaschine sitzen konnte. Da Sitzen aber jeweils nur über einen ziemlich begrenzten Zeitraum möglich ist, habe ich für diese Tasche nur ca. 2 Wochen gebraucht! (ok, 1 Woche davon habe ich überlegt, was für eine Tasche ich nähen möchte und 4 Tage habe ich für das kleine Reißverschlußtäschchen gebraucht. Aber hier ist es nun: mein 2. Nähobjekt - und ich finde, es kann sich sehen lassen:

Uuuh, my 100th post! Well, if you take into consideration when this blog was opened, it's just a sub-optimal achievement. After not having been able to sit for 3 months, I was so happy when I finally could knit and sew again. As I'm only able to sit for a quite limited period of time, this tote took me just 2 weeks! (ok, I admit that I needed 2 weeks for choosing the bag's form and it took me 4 days to sew the little zippered pouch. But here it is: my 2nd sewing project - and I think, I don't need to hide it:

Schwimmtasche außen / Bathing tote bag

Die Tasche habe ich für meinen Mann genäht. Der musste die letzten Monate wirklich leiden - und eigentlich ist ja auch noch nicht sicher, wie lange das noch andauert. Wir fahren jede Woche schwimmen, deshalb gab's diese Tasche zum Hochzeitstag. Den "Schnitt" dazu habe ich selbst ausgetüftelt. Man findet nur wenige Taschen ohne Schulterriemen, die auch für Männer geeignet sind. Und ich wollte unbedingt eine kleine Reißverschlußtasche (für Eintrittskarte und den Euro, den man für das Schließfach braucht) und Innenfächer. So sieht die Tasche von innen aus:

I sewed this tote for my husband. He had to suffer a lot during the last months - and it's actually not really sure how long this will last. As we are going swimming every week, I gave him this bag for our anniversary. I fiddled about it's pattern on my own. There are only few bags without shoulder straps suitable for men. And I wanted to have a small zippered pouch (for the tickets and the Euro you need for the lockboxes) as well as pockets on the inner section of the bag:

Die Stoffe hatte ich alle "vorrätig": der Jeansstoff stammt aus einer alten Jeans meines Sohnes; der Streifenstoff ist von meiner Freundin, die mir (gottseidank) Stoffe zum Üben geschenkt hat, als ich mit dem Nähen anfing. Der Karabinerhaken, das rote Band und der dazu passende D-Ring an dem kleinen Täschchen stammen aus einer anderen Tasche, die wir nie nutzen. Der Reißverschluß ist gekauft. Zwischen Außen- und Innenstoff ist noch eine Lage Volumenvlies eingearbeitet, da der karierte Stoff sehr dünn ist. Fehler, die ich beim Nähen gemacht habe: 1. natürlich der Reißverschluß. Zuerst einmal hatte ich einen viel zu dicken Reißverschluß, der eher für den Schiffbau geeignet ist. Und dann habe natürlich auch ich rechts und links Knubbel. Die sind auch jetzt nicht wirklich weg, aber da die Tasche fertig werden sollte, habe ich es so gelassen. Mein Mann denkt, es sei so richtig ;) (hm, ich hoffe, er liest meinen Blog nicht) 2. ich weiß nicht, wie oft ich den falschen Stoff zusammen genäht habe. Innen- mit Außenstoff und dann wieder einmal das leidige "rechts auf links"-Thema. Ich muss einfach mehr üben! Geholfen hat mir da übrigens dieses Video vonPattydoo: man näht praktisch 2 Taschen - jeweils aus Innen- und Außenstoff und steckt sie zusammen. Und selbst dann kann man noch die Stoffe falsch ineinander stecken, glaubt es mir! Naja, ich werde versuchen, diese Fehler bei der nächsten Tasche, die ich für mich nähen werde, zu vermeiden. Schließlich muss man ja üben. Wünsche allen ein wunderschönes Wochenende!

Fabrics are all taken from my "stash": jeans fabric is from my son's old trousers; the striped fabric comes from my friend, who gave me some fabrics for exercising purposes when I started sewing. Carabiner, the red ribbon and the matching D-ring come from another tote we never use. And I bought the zipper. I inserted a batting between the two fabric layers as the plaid fabric is quite thin. Sewing mistakes 1. the zipper, of course. In the beginning, I had a zipper which was far too thick. I assume such zippers are used in the field of ship construction. And I had - of course - those buckles on the right and left sides of the zipper. And they are still there as the bag had to be finished. My husband thinks that I did it on purpose ;) (hm, it just comes into my mind that he could read this blog ;) ) 2. uncountable the times I sewed the wrong sides respectively fabrics together. Main fabric with lining and again the neverending "right sides to left sides"-issue. I have to sew more! This video by Pattydoo helped a lot: you actually sew 2 bags - one from the main fabric and one from the lining - and put them together. And you even can make mistakes in this last step - believe me! I'll try to improve on another bag I'll sew for me ;) Wishing everybody a wonderful weekend!
