World Cardmaking Day

Wow, heute ist World Cardmaking Day. Das erste Mal für mich, und ich habe keine Ahnung, was es an diesem Tag so gibt. Deshalb viel Spannung heute... ich kann es kaum abwarten. Nur die Zeitverschiebung macht es mir ein bisschen schwer ;-) Wenn Ihr mal Lust habt, vorbei zu sehen: Cardvaarks hat wohl eine Menge vor heute... Ich bin gespannt!

Wow, today's World Cardmaking Day! It's the first one for me, and I have no idea what this day will bring. Means a lot of excitement today... I cannot wait to see the ideas in the web. Now I just have to cope with the different time differences. ;-) If you want to have a look: Cardvaarks seems to have tons of plans for today... and I am really looking forward to it!

Der 75. Geburtstag / The 75th Birthday

Meine Tante ist 75 geworden! Leider wohnt sie am anderen Ende Deutschlands. Ich habe ihr diese Karte gemacht:

My aunt had her 75th birthday. Unfortunately she lives at the farest end from Germany. So I made her this card:

Ich wollte die Karte bewusst ein wenig schlichter halten. Für mich hat die Kombination rosa - dunkelrot immer auch etwas Elegantes. Das rosa Papier ist aus dem Kit "Pretty in Pink" von Misty Cato Designs. Die Vorlage für die Blume ist ursprünglich von Ruth Zaroff (Mirkwood Designs), aber ich habe sie hier bei Mel gefunden. Ich hoffe, Euch gefällt die Karte. Ich wünsche allen einen schönen 3. Oktober!

I deliberately made this card a bit simple. The colour-combo pink- dark red has something elegant for me, I like it a lot. The pink paper is from the "Pretty in Pink"-kit by Misty Cato Designs. Originally, the flower's template comes from Ruth Zaroff (Mirkwood Designs), but I found it here on Mel's page. I hope you'll like it! Wishing everybody a gread 3rd of October!

Journal Jar #3: die Innenseite / Inside the journal

Nachdem ihr nun die Außenseite des Ringbuches und das Glas gesehen habt, möchte ich Euch den Innenteil auch nicht vorenthalten. Hier kommt also die erste Seite (es handelt sich um die Innenseite des Ringbuch-Einbandes). Zum Einen wollte ich einen Einstieg in das "Mutter-Thema" finden. Und dazu passte das Mini-Kit "Lovely Day" von Tiffany Tillman einfach perfekt! Kennt ihr die Seite von ihr? Ihr findet sie hier. Ich kann mich auf ihrer Seite gar nicht satt sehen: sie hat so viele super Ideen, dass man immer wieder eine neue Inspiration findet.

After showing you the outer part of the ring binder and the jar, I do not want to withhold the inner part of the journal from you. Here now is the first page (it is the inner side of the ring binder's cover). On the one hand I wanted to find an introduction into the "mother-topic". And this mini-kit "Lovely Day" by Tiffany Tillman just perfectly matches this topic! Do you know her website? You can find it here. I cannot stop watching her website: there are soooo many cool ideas, that you`ll find new inspiration whenever you visit it.

Aus diesem Mini-Kit ist das Hintergrund-Papier, aber auch der Spruch: "Mother - a mother is she who can take the place of all others, but whose place no one else can take". Er ist so passend, oder? Oben seht ihr einen Umschlag, den ich für unsere Tochter gemacht habe, denn natürlich wollte ich ihr auch ein paar sehr persönliche Worte zukommen lassen. Es ist schließlich ein wirklich einzigartiger, wundervoller neuer Abschnitt in ihrem Leben. Den soll man ja nicht unkommentiert lassen, oder? Es hat ein wenig den Anschein, als wäre die Klappe des Umschlages schief. Das liegt allerdings daran, dass sie nicht ganz geschlossen war, als ich das Foto gemacht habe. Den Umschlag selbst habe ich silber-schwarz-weiß gehalten: ich mag dieses Paisly-Papier sehr gerne und meiner Meinung nach passt es perfekt zu schwarz.... ich hoffe, dieser Einstieg in das Journal gefällt Euch! Wünsche allen einen schönen Herbst-Tag (hier kommt gottseidank gerade noch einmal die Sonne raus!)

Both, the background paper but also the wordart is from this kit. The wordart is "MOTHER - a mother is she who can take the place of all others, but whose palce no one else can take". It's that true, isn't it? At the top of the page you find an envelope I made for our daughter. I wanted to send her some personal words. It is, finally, a unique, wonderful new phase in her life. And that shouldn`t be left without any comment, should it? It seems a bit as if the envelope's closing would be inclined. But this resulted from the fact, that the closing was a bit open when I took the photo. I promise! The envelope itself is in silver-black-white: I love this paisley-paper and imho it perfectly matches to any black paper. I hope you like this introduction into the journal! Wishing everybody a great autumn-day (sun is coming out at the moment... )

Super Tool: CK Type Ruler

Ich habe letztens ein wirklich super Tool für alle Papier-Scrapper und Kartenbastler entdeckt! Den CK Type Ruler. Bei Creating Keepsakes gibt es eine Hilfe, wie man die perfekte Schriftgröße für sein LO oder seine Karte findet. Ich habe es jetzt schon ein paar Mal im Einsatz gehabt und möchte nicht mehr drauf verzichten. Vielleicht ist es ja auch für den ein oder anderen von Euch eine Hilfe? Back again

Es ist so ärgerlich und total frustrierend... wenn man denkt, nu kann alles wieder seinen geregelten Gang gehen... und es dann doch wieder anders kommt. Aber nun kann ich doch die Blogger-Welt weiter nerven ;-), denn "I`m back again". Freue mich auf regen Austausch und möchte hier alle grüßen, mit denen ich öfter zu tun habe.

It's really both, annoying and frustrating... if you think, everything is ok and things can go their usual way... and then it turns out different than you might have expected it... But now I`ll be able to participate in the bloggers' world, ´cause I'm back again. I'm really looking forward to any exchange with others... and would like to send my hugs to everybody who knows me.

Journal Jar #2: the JAR

Speziell für Cuchy... kommt hier nun das JAR, also das Glas, zum Journal Jar.

Especially for Cuchy... the JAR! Meaning the jar for the journal jar.

Ich habe auf dem Deckel wieder das gleiche Papier verwendet, wie auf der Vorderseite des Ringbuches. Vorne seht ihr 2 Baby-Schuhe, einen in rosa und einen in hellblau. Die Vorlage zu den Schuhen könnt ihr hier finden (Vielen Dank noch einmal an Tanya :) ) Im Glas sind die Fragen versteckt: ich habe sie auf Papierstreifen geschrieben. Die Streifen habe ich mit verschiedenen Zier-Scheren ausgeschnitten und dann zusammen gerollt. Die Aufgabe ist es, immer dann, wenn man Lust dazu hat, einen Streifen aus dem Glas zu holen und die Frage darauf im Journal zu beantworten... der Phantasie sind keine Grenzen gesetzt! Möchtet Ihr ein paar Beispiele? Was war Dein erster Gedanke, als du gehört hast, dass du schwanger bist? Wie haben die zukünftigen Großeltern reagiert? Die 10 nervigsten Fragen, die man Schwangeren stellt? Welche Traditionen aus deiner Kindheit möchtest du für Dein Kind übernehmen? Und welche nicht? Insgesamt habe ich ca. 20 Fragen in das Glas gelegt. Hinzu kommen ja noch die Aufgaben von den einzelnen Seiten. Für 40 Wochen also genug zu tun, denke ich ;-) Bis zum nächsten Mal, Gabriele

The lid is made out of the same paper I used for the front of the ring binder. You can see 2 baby-booties: a light-blue and a pink one. You can find the template for the booties here Thanks a lot again to Tanya for her website! There are questions inside the jar: I wrote them onto paper strips. The strips have been cut out with different scissors, so that they vary in their shape. You have to take one stripe out of the jar, whenever you want to, and to answer the respective question on one of the empty pages in the journal... there are no limits to one's phantasy! Want to read some examples? What was your first thought when you heard you were pregnant? Which reaction did the future grandparents show? The top-ten of the most annoying questions you hear during your pregnancy Write down the traditions you want to adopt for your child. And those you do not want to adopt! There were 20 questions in my jar. And additionally the tasks on the single pages. I think, this is enough to do within 40 weeks ;-) See you soon, Gabriele

ohje, ich habe grade gemerkt, dass man auf dem ersten Foto die Baby-Schuhe nicht so gut sieht. Deshalb hier noch einmal ein anderes Foto (von einer früheren Version... deshalb ist es so klein.) Naja, ihr sollt einen kleinen Eindruck von den Schuhen bekommen und ich hoffe, dafür reicht es...

Dreieck auf Karte / Card with triangle

Bei creadoo gab es mal wieder einen Kartenwettbewerb, an dem ich teilgenommen habe. Dieses Mal ging es darum, nach diesem Sketch von Arti zu arbeiten:

There was another cards contest on creadoo which I attended. This time we had to make a card using the following sketch from Arti:

Danke noch einmal an Arti, dass ich den Sketch hier auch veröffentlichen darf :) Ich liebe hellblau/ Aqua-Töne und für mich passen diese Farbtöne am besten mit schwarz und silber zusammen. (Aber auch mit einem hellen rot total klasse). Hier habe ich mich jedenfalls für hellblau, schwarz und silber entschieden. Ein Dreieck sieht man nicht so oft auf Karten-Sketches. Damit hatte ich auch so mein Problem... ich finde Dreiecke auf Karten toll. Aber anfangs wollte ich diesem Dreieck eine "Bedeutung" geben und erst eine Weihnachtskarte basteln. Das Dreieck wäre dann der Weihnachtsbaum gewesen. Aber da wir ja nun mal erst August hatten, habe ich mich dann doch für diese Version entschieden:

I love the light blue/ aqua colours and imho these colours perfectly match with black and silver. (A light red is also a perfect partner...). Here I decided to use the light blue-black-silver combo. You don't see triangles on cards too often, do you? And that was my problem... I really like triangles on cards. But when I first saw the sketch, I wanted to give a "meaning" to the triangle and make a christmas card. The triangle would have been the christmas tree. But as it was August and not November or December, I decided to make this card:

Die Abstimmung ist abgeschlossen, deshalb darf ich meine Karte jetzt veröffentlichen. Der hellblaue Hintergrund ist eigentlich ein Vlies, der mit Goldfäden durchwoben war. Die Fäden waren aber einerseits zu dick und andererseits... golden *gg*. Deshalb habe ich sie in mühevoller Kleinarbeit herausgefriemelt. Wäre auch ein Beitrag zum Thema "Geduld" weiter unten auf meinem Blog gewesen *gg*. Ich hatte Angst, das Vlies zu beschädigen... aber es hat ja dann doch geklappt ;) Das Kleid habe ich hier gefunden...

As they did not match to my wishes, I puzzled them out... that was really an act of real real patience *gg*. The fabric is so thin that I feared to damage it. But after all it worked...
